I have been picking up a lightning deal nearly every day
is much I want to get but everything has gone wrong for me, roots in drain, hot water heater leaking, knee injured, Aussie dollar bad
just cannot waste money on DAZ content but grateful for the LDs and temp DAZ+ membership
It may be the final weekend but is it the end of the sale??? That is question. Afterall there are 5 more days before the next weekend.
Even when they say "Last" or "Final" it is often not, so it might end Sunday night , or next Friday night, or never. There is no way to know before it actually happens. Even then we sometimes get "it's back!".
Well, I am down to my last dollar from a gift card I bought with the intention of stretching out to the end of the sale.
I haven't gotten an LD I wanted to buy for weeks. Mind you, I've had some great offers such as character/pro/starter bundles, even G8 or 9, for $9-20. But I just wasn't interested in any of them.
Tonight I finally picked up the Willow add-on bundle plus the 3 Iray texture add-ons for the outfits. With the Still New & WL promos, 3 tokens, a few dollars' leftover store credit & my $10 DO coupon, I paid $7.68 - a few cents less than the $7.73 cost for one Iray add-on. So pretty happy with that cart. I was very tempted to make a cart to use my other coupon but decided to wait & see if there was a good Easter sale.
It is year 2036 and the Ultimate Extended Definitive ReReReExtended Absolute Final ReExtended March Madness Sale... keeps on going....

If you aren't going to do something new or different the next day, give people more time to shop the better discounts.

I had to avoid buying early in March but I broke down (and I may regret it still) in the past few days. Today, I focused on hair. Out of 10 products I bought 7 hairs I have had on wishlist forever it feels. Many were historical hairs which I can use. My discounts for the cart's contents ranged from 75% to 91% off with 4 tokens used.
As I read through the thread to get here, I saw the comments about texture sets and referencing back to the base product. I have one other issue to add to this. When a texture artist leaves the store, their products are dropped from the main product's listing of Add-ons. And when someone is trying to track down all the add-ons they own for that outfit, set, hair, prop, whatever... it is close to impossible unless one has printed the promo pages when bought and filed them under both artists' names. If the primary artist has also left and the item has become a DAZ Original, it becomes even harder. Also add in that older products are having names modified so they don't cause conflicts. I have noticed this as I have been selectively installing products on my MacMini and Win 11 computers. I would really like to see all texture sets still be listed on the main product's sale page, but with a note no longer available for sale, if that is the case.

OK, so we got the super-final-ultimate-last-catchup-weekend to be followed by an extra 24hours today. Oh well.
Btw. was it a glitch or is really all the new stuff I bought during the last days for a max discount of 76% off now 80% off?

For some reason before I was about to check out a half hour before Daz midnight, I lost my gold star and all prices in my cart increased drastically with one item going from like $4.00 to $35 so I emptied my cart and put in a gift card for $1.05 just in case I'd need another gold star and sure enough, the sale was extended another day. I guess this sale is doing well for Daz although I've spent a small fraction of what I usually do during March Madness mostly because the deals for Daz+ were very mediocre unless you had 8 tokens, and even then, no better than many of the regular sales.
There must be a lot of Premier members who are newbies buying because I could see how that extra 10% off, plus extra tokens and choices of a lot of great older content (that long time members already own) could make it a worthwhile sale for Premier newbies while pretty much screwing over existing Daz+ members. My Daz+ membership ends in about a week and it will be the first time I'm letting my membership lapse. I may get premiere for a month at time during the Premier and PA sales, but this will be the first time in my long history at Daz I won't have a yearly membership. Daz+ is so devalued and now overpriced and there's no way I'm paying $20 a month or $200 yearly,!
I don't understand the need to use a negatively connoted term like 'newbies', especially when Premier is great for new and recent content too.
I can only speak for myself, but I don't see "newbie" as negative, including when applied to myself. I just see it as a state of being indicating that someone is at the beginning of their journey and likely doesn't have a lot of knowledge or resources yet. Newbies are great! The more the merrier!
Agreed. A newbie is used to describe someone who is, well, just new at something, be it a job or hobby. Newbies ask questions, try to learn and improve themselves. We were all newbies once (and some of us still are). It's really something we designate to ourselves.
A noob, however, would be the deragatory version of that word. A noob is someone who has been doing said job or hobby for some time but is either unwilling or unable to improve based on a lack of conviction, skill, acquiring knowledge, or a combination of all three. Not all of us are noobs.
As an eternal newbie and occasional noob I don't attach a negative connotation to either. It's mind over matter: If you don't mind, it don't matter.
It's okay to not be offended by either. Usually, especially in the gaming world, a noob is used to call out someone who's bad (I'm an old school gamer, unsure what the younglings say these days so much anyway). It at least USED to be used that way. But to call yourself a noob is another thing, though.
Anyway, I'm ready for new stuff to appear in the store. Two days now with nothing new is not vibing with me at all.
THis current MM is about to say bye bye. I have to say, most of my WL items are at 60% off and most have been this entire sale.. That's way unusual for such a long time, but right now, I have no membership, no tokens, and 10% off a cart isn;t helping much of anything, especially when you have to buy 2 new still items to get it, plus I have no goden star. Wonder if that will go away after today or continue on?
I imagine today is the last day for it, with something else maybe starting tomorrow. Considering we haven't gotten anything new lately and we also get double tokens on a Tuesday, it would be a decent time to encourage some spending.
Here's hoping today is the Absolute, Super Serious, No More Delays, Not Joking Around, Cross My Heart, For Real Final Last Day of March Madness.

I remember when I used to be glad MM was over because I'd gone way over my budget and there were still amazing new items on sale each day. Or when a new DAZ core figure was followed by a dedicated thread that ran for weeks?
the negatively connoted term you were thinking of - or should have thought of - is "noob". And Premier is good for some people and useless for others, newbies or oldtimers alike.
I'm okay with it ending Friday, if that means we can use the Gold Star to get one last character bundle at a really good price. We didn't get one last week, so I'm hopeful we'll good one this week.
I've made dedicated core figure posts in recent times (with the exception of Chloe 9, underwhelming bundle). I post some images with my assessment, and it goes on for a day or two before people simply seem to lose interest in the figure.
My membership info page still shows as I'm a daz + member even though it's after the 13th - the last day of the free membership thing. No coupons though - they dissapeared, no discount either. I still see the daz plus/premier forums. No idea what's going on. Not paying if they try to charge me for daz plus as I did not ask for it and did not sign up for it. Guess it's a bug. Hopefully they'll correct it soon. I'm a base member, that's what it should show.
its pretty rare for me to get excited about a new character anymore. I have a ton of them, including bundles, but none seem to have the same excitement as in the past, even a new generation. I have a lot of gen9 through sales, but I could just as easily have stayed with 8 or even 3. I think Gen 10 will have to self-animate and talk or something, over even AI, where I can text and say , "a broad smile" and it will change the face to reflect that. "lie on the sofa" etc. expressions and poses...that might excite me, if it works.
Well, I wait for DAZ customer service to answer my ticket, if they even bother. If not, I will fall into the largest money savings in a very long time. I've already downloaded all my purchases that are still available in my library, as a backup.
