Now that daz has iray which looks awesome to me does that mean that daz can now create professional looking animated videos and compete with the more expensive software in these regards ?

Not really if you're talking about Pixar quality stuff using RenderMan. For one, you need a team of dedicated experts to do that, and two, you need the grunt of huge render farms to produce it.

DS was never designed for that purpose and while it can produce amazing artwork, it isn't in the field of the top end professional rendering and animation software.
