Take a look at any good collection of Irish/ Welsh/Scottish tales, and you'll find plenty of male faries... They also tend to be human sized- and inhumanly cruel as well as beautiful. Definately not in the Disney/Tinkerbelle/ pixie mold.
Google The Wild Hunt for some nice pics of Faerie males you might not want to run into.
I don't think appearence wise there is much between faries and elves in most stories (with the exception that elves do not have small fluttering wings). Both are youthful looking with pointed ears, and elves come in male and female varieties.
I'm disappointed too: but maybe they want to release him on Wednesday to match the late Izabella arrival?
If any Daz_Spiders are reading: This is why not announcing anything is kinda bad. There's a great offer on today for a MM item and a 10% gift card, but I'm holding off buying my final purchase of the month (including using my voucher on another older item) in case there's a chance there's a late second character along with the PC+ items. If I knew it wasn't happening, I could buy things today. Since I don't, those things aren't getting bought. If things don't turn up tomorrow or there isn't an equivalent good sale on, I won't buy things then either.
There is a reason basically every other medium announces big upcoming releases in advance (games music movies etc.) :/
Well, given that they have a whole store of new content coming in, they may not know exactly when the next big character will finally make it through QA.
They know at least a few days if not weeks beforehand: Izabella has been in PA hands since at least January, Girl 7, Teen Julie 7 and Mei Lin 7 since Feb or earlier. No idea about the males, though; they never seem to have hints (although we were directly told that Leo and Guy were coming a week in advance.)
We have not had the slightest hint of a male equivalent for Isabella, whilst for Olympia and Girl, announcements were made, probably to help boost sales of the girl as buying her meant the boy was 25% off. My guess is this time round, there will be no male equivalent, but I said the same about Girl 7, and I was wrong. We shall find out tomorrow I guess.
I don't think that every character will get a male equivalent, but there are two (soon to be three) teen girls and no male counterpart, so I thought we'd at least get one.
Whether we get one or not, there's still no beneficial reason to keep it secret until the moment of release. Many of us do have to budget out purchases in advance.
Well they could do a male Shaggy. He's a teen.
I agree that they may know about the character, but what I was trying to say is that they may not currently have a release schedule for it since they also have to integrate the content from RDNA.
