M7 pro bundle has been number 1 or 2 in the what's hot list pretty much since it was released, so it would not be true to say male stuff doesn't sell.
Pretty soon they'll release V8 before we see anymore M7/G3M content.

It sells well just because of the lack of choice!!! he is the ONLY man G3 atm.
Girls sell better ->>> PA do more girl stuff ->>> more choice for girl ->>> Girl sell better
Yes, I too had hoped for so much more when we finally got M3. But the follow ups have been sadly absent. Were where the characters, the hairs, the props and most of all the clothes? And I'm so sick of "isn't she lovely" themes by now. Female underwear and beach dresses, haven't we all bought that already?
Bring in the mens clothes now! Give us the

I'd love to see something like Shades of Atlantis for G2M and G3M. And a male companion to the G3F EXO Suit.
That's good news – as long as it doesn't mean that the next male figure is Teen Jayden7… I would like to have more adult G3M characters, mostly for the skins. dogz' 200 Plus Head & Face Morphs for Genesis 3 Male(s) would be great, too!
@Hera: I would appreciate Greek/Roman clothes ('historical correct' ones; not the fantasy/skimpwear stuff)! But to look really good, they should probably be dynamic, and DS would need a far better support for dynamic clothes…
I think that you are both sooo right ...!

I agree about the different styles of clothing (skimpwear can be fun but really we have enough and more than enough on top of that) but I really hope it's Teen Jaden 7 so that everyone can be upset that they didn't get the figure they personally wanted, since no one seems to like the poor guy.
Just kidding, I hope the new guy is Keiko 7 >.>
I actually bought the Teen Jayden 6 pro bundle, and I don't actually buy that many pro bundles. I did not buy it for the base shape (although I have no issues with that) but because the content was probably the best of all the gen 6 males imho (although the M6 pro bundle was also good, and is the only other male gen 6 pro bundle I have). No less than 6 outfits, 3 characters and 3 hairs (this was in the old days before pro bundles became pro bundle lite). The 6 outfits were all normal clothes that people ACTUALLY wear, there were no impractical armour, warrior thongs, or voodoo outfits to be seen.
If Teen Jayden 7 is the next male, and has a similar bundle, I for one, will not complain.

It took me a while to find what you were referencing there... And I love it! So funny... "Sexy sells, sexy sells, sexy sells..."
I'd love to have something like this for G3M:

LOL!
A few male skins, with unshaped eyebrows and no/little body hair, would be nice. I don't think I'm asking for too much.
I believe they're just being cautious about oversaturating the male model market too quickly. The male market is small...maybe only 20% that of the female market. DAZ knows this. The PAs know this. We should realize this too, because any ongoing expectation of a greater than 1:5 ratio of men's to women's content would be unsustainable.
So if DAZ makes a quick two or three releases in a row, they could find that demand is all dried up. Or they could find that they're running out of good male content in the PA pipeline. Any reduction in quality could cause its own problems; most worringly a cascading impact that might even affect the ladies's market and eventually the health of DAZ itself!
Hopefully DAZ has a grip on the market mechanics and the development pipeline for new PA content, and they're just managing their resources in the most reasonable way possible.
Edit:
With Michael 7, the world really HAS opened up. We're seeing morphs, UVs, and other tools now for the boys, and the PAs have the models to start building new products. I think all that's needed now is patience. Yes, keep holding DAZ's feet to the fire (just like I'm trying to do with Hexagon and Bryce). But on this one at least there is progress; very good progress indeed.
Oh hey, look, a practical new scifi outfit and some poses for Michael 7 released today.
Yes, the Scifi stuff for M3 today was awesome. But as a matter of fact we should've got like 5 of the kind since his release if we had a more equal balance. Subtropic Pixel mentioned 1:5 but even with a new male figure it seems like the balance is more like 1:20. If we had say 1:5 we'd already got the cowboy, the fire fire fighter, the mad professor, the steampunk airship pilot, the Sherlook-esque victorian private investigator and the Judge Dredd lookalike since the release of G3M. + an assortment of shoes, boots, hats, helmets, guns and at least one neck tie as well. Not to mention some 3 figures including an asian one and a handful of hair.
You want an equal balance there has to be equal sales; there aren't.
I saw a post saying that if currently released items didn't sell it would be down to christmas, and Daz would look on it as a poor sale.
The thing is, that sales data, for a the whole year, when that is compared. As a PA, which I'm not, I'd be concerned with not what sold at released but over its lifetime. And for most vendors it's mainly at release; if however, there were some data to affect that - then the yearly (and lifetime sales) would show.
It doesn't. Or at least my understanding is it doesn't whenever they compare it.
Or are you considering that those that want male items don't buy over christmas, but those that want female do buy?
G3F had 5 times that wide a variety of items made during its first month of release? Wow, that's a lot of things.
Pa's and daz often expect too much from buyers. Just because it is a guy item doesn't mean I'm just going. To buy it. I need decent promo art to show me what it looks like and I also need better textures.
for example the new Santa suit looks great but the promo art looks dark and unappealing. Other outfits have textures which look fake or made of plastic
I don't have unlimited funding. Especially during sales when items cannot be returned taking risks on buying content which may or may not look good when dowloaded can be risky.
My ratio is based on a modified "80/20 rule", which applies to life in so many uncanny but reliable ways. I have no special access to any of DAZ's sales statistics, it is a guess (but I'll bet a very good one) that for every sale of a male or related article, there are 4 sales of a female or female-related article. But 1/5th (1:4) seemed too high to me, so I went with 1/6th (1:5). I should have explained this in my post.
You are thinking I meant that DAZ is producing them in a 1:5 ratio...no, I'm not saying that. I was thinking that the men probably sell in a 1:5 ratio, but now that you've mentioned it, maybe the sales ratio really is more like 1:20.
By the way, I don't think DAZ would unreasonably or stubbornly delay the male entry into the market if they thought the market really was ready. DAZ and PAs are in this to make money, so it wouldn't make sense to be dragging feet. If this was a delay, then the reason was one of 2 things:
1. There were technical issues with the base product, or the PAs needed additional time to come up with their products for the initial bundles.
2. The market wasn't ready yet until demand and sales of Victoria 7 and her sisters were strong.
Although I think the answer is "both", I think it was likely that "2" was the bigger reason. I for one would not be interested at all in Michael if there were no ladies. And even when Michael 7 did come out, I was thinking that since "it's all about the girl" in my images, I could have continued to use Michael 6 almost indefinitely. Or M5 or even M4...yeah, it's like that!
Now...I did buy him of course. But I didn't really "need" him. After getting several of the girls and the PA characters too, Michael 7 (upon his release) came to feel like a "nice to have", so his release was well timed for me. Until then, I never saw the point in wishing or complaining. I honestly wonder if I'm in the (ahem) 80% majority on this.
When I first saw the new Santa suit, I was ready to buy, even though I had just bought Mec4d's Santa a couple weeks ago. But after looking at the promo's, I realized I really, really didn't like the coat. And I can't imagine Santa going through his rounds with his boots untied. Reluctanly, I put my wallet away.
As for buying G3M/M7 products, I've pretty much wishlisted stuff as it's been released. Not so much the SciFi/Fantasy clothes, but the figures, poses, morphs and contemporary clothing. I'm just too tapped out after the PA Festival and the PC Anniversary to spend a big chunk right now. I even passed up the Olympia Pro Bundle last week when I could have picked it up for less than $42... That's $42 I don't have right now. (I managed to get 5 punches, but haven't been able to take much advantage of the big discounts they afford.)
I wonder if the store software includes reports on wishlisted items. It would be helpful, I think, for DAZ to be able to look at an item and see how many customers have added it to their wishlist. I think that would be almost as important a number as sales, and it would show that many of us are interested in the male content even if we can't afford to pick it up right away.
Greetings,
@L'Adair - I know that DAZ has run reports in the past on wishlisted items, and done promotional things based on them, IIRC, but it's not a regular part of their process evidently. I asked some PA's way back if they got reports on wishlistings, as a measure of interest in their items, and they said no.
I'd figure that wishlisting would be a useful signal of potential long-term income for an item, but on the flip side, that's probably only true if the general public doesn't know it's tracked, as that might change our behavior...hmmm. :)

I tend to buy most items I want when they are released but some content has bad timing. Right now there are just too many similar ladies things on the market and what I'm jonesing for is new male skins for g3m.
I am wondering if we will get a new male figure this week. That would be a welcome surprise if he isn't a teen
http://www.daz3d.com/jared-for-michael-7
There you go, a male, for ultra cheap for two days, made by a great PA and has 2 Anatomical Element mats! (not because he has 2 Anatomical Elements but because the G3M Anatomical Element kind of sucks.)
I'm scrambling hard to think of a new release I can afford so that I can maybe afford him now.
Yeah, he looks great, and I just got him. I just don't care for the "buy something you may not want to get something you do want for cheap" deal. But I guess it worked, since I fell for it.
* Goth outfits
Ok just for you I will do one !
