Hi, I have been reading game texturing books in hopes of learning more about making textures. This one book I am reading talks about DDS and DXTC file formats and how to export textures in those formats from photoshop. My question is, are there file formats I can ( or should ) use to make free textures for clothing? For example: If I make a shirt texture in photoshop, save as a DXTC then input the file in the surface section of Daz Studio will it work? and will it also work for another person who install's it in their computer?

Thanks
Kimberly

For making free texture for distribution, jpg or png are your friends The file formats you mention seem to be specific formats used in other apps, but not Daz Studio or Poser. The first seems to be a Direct X thing, the 2nd a game specific format.

Thanks, I kind of had that idea but wanted to make sure. I been reading a couple hours a night on my nook trying to understand all the terms, etc... but these was really was not sure about.
