Finding of the day - diffeomorphic: imported pose is slightly off when pins are used in daz

January 2024 in Blender Discussion

Today I struggled a lot because a pose I had created in daz and then imported into blender with diffeomorphic was slightly off in Blender. No matter if I imported the figure itself into blender or just the pose to be applied for an already imported figure - the pose was always a slightly off, the fingers / hands as well as the legs in blender were just 90% close to the place where they were placed in daz. I did not use another rig or something like this...

To make it short: I explored after a while that the pins I have used in daz for the ActivePose tool caused this issue. As soon as I un-pinned all pins for the ActivePose tool, saved the daz file and exported / imported again the pose in blender was happily 100% correct.

Just wanted to share this finding of mine in case anyone else might have this problem as well.

Yes, as far as I know, diffeomorphic doesn't import the daz pins or ik chains.
