Hey, congratulations on the release, picked it up!!!!

  • Hey, thank you so much laugh

My first customer and I didn't even notice it was in the store yet, it's not on the home page yet.

So cool to see it there amongst all the other stuff.

  • I know a few people were interested, here's the link to the page : http://www.daz3d.com/widdershins-grocery-pack

Let me know how you get on and if there's anything I need to still tweak.

I suppose I should start a thread in the PA section now I am offically published cool

saw it in the store this morning when I was getting my freebie, immeadiately went to my wishlist!

Congrats on being a PA :)

  • Thank you kindly smiley

A while back in this thread I had a few requests about groups of models. There were quite a lot of items and I thought to provide lots of different groups would be overkill and there would be so many and you can never really predict how people will use things.

Anyway, I had a think about this idea and have been working on a plugin that stacks models. I'm still tweaking it, but it will do automagically what people asked for.

So the process is to select item(s) from your assets, then put in the dimensions of the stack, then click a button to have them stacked. There's a few other options like a shuffle, so if you had a stack of 3 x 3 fruit juices, you could mix the different types up and so on. It should also prove useful for my next project, some old books.

Because I said it was something I was going to do and because it's Christmas it will be a free plugin. I'll post more about it as I go on somewhere, it still needs some work, but I hope to get a beta out soon.

Thanks to the nice folk that have bought my groceries I hope you enjoy them smiley

Those feminine avatars for male forum members confuse everyone. Dimension Theory used to have one if those, too. I think he got tired of being called she/her and changed it.

I still have some 6 hours or so before my first render with this product has finished rendering. I think I used all food stuff but the bottle of port in it and they all look good. I might be completely wrong and in that case I would gladly like to be corrected, but one thing struck me a as a bit off though and that's the size of the soup cans and box of sugarcubes that all seem to be a bit out of scale and too large. Easy enough to scale them down to whatever size one might deem fit, but I thought I'd mention it.

Thanks for mentioning it. I tried to scale things by what I have in my cupboards and with reference to Vicky 7 I think orginally, then off of the port bottle which again I had scaled on Vicky. It might be better if I took real-world measurements and then adjusted them that way. I wrote a simple script to measure things the other day as I was trying to scale my new books.

So yep, if you want to drop in the scaling you used to make them look more fitting then please do and I will look at getting them updated.

Would love to see your render if it's something you can share.

I called you a dude a couple years ago, remember? And I'm a horse so it would be anyone's guess too. (Nova was my Arabian. He was a he, I am a she, so I ended Novica with an "a" like the (mostly) female endings in Spanish.

One thing I'm thinking about food- do we have open refrigerator type things, such as bowls covered with aluminum foil,  Tupperware/rubber containers with the lid on, that can be removed (and food that could be put in them?) We have several fridges on the market, are there any with aluminum foiled food? (Cat food and dog food come to mind, we ALWAYS have that in ours due my dog being small and having a fourth of a can mixed with his kibble.)

Oh yeah, different kinds of bagged dog and cat food- you could really have fun with the animals on those. I love your labels!

That's a beautiful horse - I used to work with an equestrian photographer and got to liking horses as I saw so many. Very nervous at times though, the horses I mean.

I'm planning to do some more groceries and things after Christmas as I still have a list here of things people have suggested. I'll see about the kind of things you mentioned too. Also have to look into making that morphable shopping bag.

Glad you liked the labels, that was my favourite part of making these.

I didn't actually change anything for this render and just used them as is as their size didn't really matter for this. I also needed to be sure it's possible to see that the sugarcubes are sugarcubes so it was actually to my advantage to not have a smaller box. The render is made for Novica's "Because I said so" contest and will be posted there and in my gallery when it's done. If the rules allow it *looks at Novica* I can link to it here when it's done.

Don't look at me (grin) the rules already state you can post anywhere else you want to after it's posted in the contest yes  I want people to post their art as many places as possible- a lot of work goes into it!

Congrats to the PA club, and I like the set. I was fiddling with something like that as part of a set but I think I'll drop that, was mostly the tin cans. I think you should make a "post apocalyptic textureset" for them, you know the few cans of food found in a storage room an an abandoned building ;-)

Finally got my render finished and posted in the "Because I said so" contest.

The characters used are Cailin for Victoria 7 and FWSA Aiden HD for Michael 7 and as I said earlier, I think the box of sugarcubes and especially the soup cans look too big. The can barely fits in Cailin's hand.

But I certainly had fun with the groceries making this scene and it was them that gave me the idea for it, so thanks again Widdershins for making this!yes

Everyday Food has 9 different tupperware containers with removable lids and morphing contents (soup, stew, etc). Plus of course, full plates of food (5), cutlery, etc, and 28 different food props which can be loaded onto plates or put into containers (just make the container contents material invisible). There's also Everyday Snacks with a whole other range of snacky foods.

Very nice to see my things getting used. Cailin is failry petite, but I think you are probably right - I'll measure them later to see how big they are and compare them with real-life ones.

And you're welcome, glad you enjoyed yourself :)

I don't know if it's still viewable, but there was a thread in the old forums for free DS scripts, one of which is called SizeOf and measures any object in DS. I use it frequently to check objects, since I build everything to real-world sizes. And it works in every version of DS.
