Transfer Utility

All right, full disclosure I'ver never used this before and I haven't got the worlds greatest computer. Now, I have a few questions about this feature of DS 4.8:
- Is it possible to use this to transfer a morph from G2F to G2M, (not a full body morph, but an ear morph)?
- Is it normal for the transfer utility to make DS crash/completely lock up my computer?
- Can any one explain the use of this utility simply or point me to any tutorials?
