Can this model be ungrouped to keep only the mask?

Hi there,

I have tried this is Bryce but it seems the way the model was created it can't be ungrouped to get all areas out around the mask.  It's in obj format.  Or are there other ways to "cut" unwanted areas out.  The areas are big and take almost all out! :(

In Hexagon it seems also too much work as Catherine mentioned and I should try making a mask like this from scratch but then I have to learn that in Hexagon 1st.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Laura

This method works well for "some" problem meshes ... good luck.

  • One thing that sometimes works is to try a different OBJ import option when importing. Often the OBJ file has both  matarial and object groups.

    You could try wings3d....

Import the object then select the red colored cube  in top menu, clickt the object ( it will turn red to )

then right click and select separate....
