Blender file size doesn't match content

Hello everyone. So I've been learning the Diffeomorphic tool and think I have it down pretty well. But I've encountered a problem when appending the models into another scene. In this example, the two individual models I've imported, applied morphs to, and rigged are each 50K kB. The pre-made environment I created is around 25K. So theoretically, when I append everything into one file, the total size should be 125K. Except it's not. It's 300K+. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. Is there a secret button I'm not pressing? I've enabled file compression from the preferences, but that shows little difference. I went through deleting different things, and the issue seems to be the models themselves. Like they're magically doubling in size or something. When it comes to using Diffeomorphic, should I use the option of "finalize mesh"? That's the one thing I'm not choosing, but as I understand it, that just means you can't apply morphs to the model anymore (although I can't do that anyway after merging all geografts and rigging). The rigs are MHX, because Rigify was giving me terrible results, as in, the chest control bone was in the crotch - LOL!

Be sure to update to 1.7.2 since there's many improvements and bug fixes. It's the master version on bitbucket.

As for "appending" objects, you don't want to do that in blender. Tipically for a project you save figures and environments as separate files or "assets", then for each scene you link the assets you need. This has the advantage that the scene will contain only a reference to the assets and will be small in size, plus if you update the asset all the scenes will follow.

For more information there's plenty of tutorials on google.

    steps:

    1. file > link > collection
    2. object > library override > make

Padone, OMG, it WORKED! 171K instead of 386K!

Can I marry you? LOL! But seriously, you're a lifesaver. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!
