I am saving for Michael 7, although given how orange the genesis 3 females are in the renders I see  I'm really hoping there isn't a coloration issue with gen 3 male.

You know, I never noticed it before but you're right - G3F is REALLY orange. I guess its supposed to look like a tan, but it just reminds me of fake tan from a bottle. Looks horrible when I stand her next to a G2F figure.

I dont know about which skin texture are you guys talking about but this ia a render of V7 I did with the only light source being HDR image, her skin is nowehere near orange/fake tan from a bottle.

It really is the lighting guys.

Nice render. But yeah I have V7 as well as a few skins and they all render normally.

Agree too many sun-tanned models; I bought Beautiful Skin for IRAY, and as well as incresing the variety of skins that can be created fairly simply, it allows for paler options; then by adjusting the SSS there are further options. And one I regretted buying when it first appeared, went on sale earlier today so I bought it. :)

I was talking about the base G3F figure that came free with Daz 4.8. Its the only G3 thing I have at the moment. V7 does look nice though - thanks for the render.

She does look old though. Thats my only real complaint about G3.

Has that image had any postwork done, or is it pure render?

Nope, no post-work on that one.

Old? She looks like a young woman to me : )

    Really? Wow, good image.

Yeah, it must be a personal thing. I find that the G3F bunch look a bit too old to me for some reason. She looks verging on middle-aged to me.

    Thanks.

They all look pretty young to me.

    mid 20s - early 30s max.

You can always dial in the young facial morph to soften their features I think, and if you´d really like a younger figure, Teen Josie 7 seems to be coming out soon.

Thats true, I hadn't thought about the youth morphs.

Yeah I heard that Teen Josie 7 might be coming out soon, but I tend to avoid the teen models like Josie and Belle because I heard that they don't have nipples and although I don't intend to try to render any naked teens I do like the models I buy to be complete in all senses regardless, in case I want to use their textures for something else in the future. I don't see the point in buying a human figure that lacks nipples. Its basically the same reason why I wouldn't buy a model that lacked fingernail textures, or ear textures etc.

Edit: Just been informed by CypherFOX that the nipple thing was not true. I guess I shouldn't believe everything I read on the forums frown.

Just keep in mind you don't have to use Josie or Belle textures or their complete shape. I think I only used Josie on 2 characters, but it was small amounts at that. You can still use your other textures and dial in a bit of teen to soften the older gals looks. Though I can understand not wanting to fork over the funds for that. I never used the Josie textures, probably didn't even realize she didn't have areolas...never had any need for belle.

I...what?  Heh; someone was seriously pulling your leg if they told you that.  It's just not true.  I mean I can't show you screenshots to prove it, being that this forum isn't rated for that, but...yeah, they do, both Belle 6 and Teen Josie 6.

Really? I thought it sounded a bit crazy, but I didn't question it because I thought "Hey, its Daz! It could easily be true.". Thats good news if they do then because I really like some of the Belle 6 characters and textures.

Thanks for setting me straight on that. I'll be blowing the dust off the old wallet and making some extra purchases next month then laugh.

  • Couldn't resist - just bought 3 more excellent RawArt monsters to add to my expanding collection. When am I ever going to find the time to actually render all these? Lol.

He is the king of monster creation wink

  • I don't buy teen figures so have no input on that. Yes even v7 has orange sallow overtones. I think it depends if you like that look whether it bothers you.

  • That sallow skin would have been a major selling point back when Jersey Shore was on/popular.  The bottle tan was a hallmark of the Jersey Shore look.  Blegh.

To be honest - right now savings are going to a new set of winter tires... As for DAZ - I'll try to save up for Dogz "Old Railway" series..

To me default V7 looks around 25ish, but I agree that this is a matter of opinion. Below is a quick attempt to make V7 look a bit younger. In the image on the left I am using V7's morph & texture, but with 25% Skyler dialled in. In the centre image is V7s morph only, but with Skyler's skin, and the right image shows the same morph as the first one (ie V7 100%/Skyler 25%), but again with Skyler's skin.

I would say that the skin texture reduces the age appearence more than the morph, as to me they look younger as you move left to right.

Note that Skyler is not an appropriate morph to knock a few years off an adult woman's face, as there is no separate head morph, however I am sure Teen Josie 7 will have a separate morph when it comes out shortly.

With PAs being featured during the PA festival, I expanded my whishlist quite a bit. blush

But I only have 4-5 items on my list that I really NEED now, the rest are just things I might be able to use at some point. I hope I can get the remainig 4-5 items in September at a good price.

So right now I am saving for October, the Daz part of the festivities. Nothing specific there. If something I can use comes at a great price, I'll jump on it.

If you tell us what those 4-5 items are maybe Santa-Daz will put them in the sale for you wink (disclaimer: I don't work for Daz, so have no idea what I'm talking about).

Santa-Daz brought 2 out of 6 today. I also bougth a little extra something I can use later to get the 60% discount on them... laugh

Thanks for that example Havos, its very enlightening. I see what you mean about the skin textures having a big impact, although I'd say that the centre image looks the oldest (around early 20's). I think Skyler's skin is a bit too 'clean' for an adult though, as one might expect, but the first image on the left with 25% Skyler dialled in is pretty good for a teen look. Probably not worth buying Skyler just for that though lol.

I'm beginning to think its the colour of the skin textures that I'm adverse to with G3F more than the shape. The V7 default skin gives me the impression of a life-long chain smoker for some reason. I'll probably still get her at some point though because I like the look of FWSA Adaline.

    Many thanks for the help.
