latest last few hours of my life went to looking for untranslated Paradise Lost.

quest started by a quote in the 'The Crow' movie.  started out as 10 books, then Milton revised it to 12 books.  would love to see how he'd illustrate it with renders  tee hee

    Abashed the Devil stood,
And felt how awful goodness is, and saw
Virtue in her shape how lovely; saw, and pined

not time yet for the crow movie.  some Jeff Dunham for a chilly night just perfect with a cuppa soup.

I think it would be difficult for modern people, since, from what I can see, nearly half of them can't spell, and don't know it...or don't care.

Since Chohole visits here often, I'd like to ask a question. Actually anyone familiar with the UK rail system is welcome to chip in. My render shows a station that is oriented East-to-West with the sun in the East. My question: On which track would the eastbound train sit? The track signals indicate it would be the train on the right, but, I read on the Internet (and we all know it's an unimpeachable source) that trains run on the left track. I want to get my train and track signals right. Yes, I'm terminally anal-retentive blush and a model railroader (US lines). I am assuming here that the double bar signals on the coach are red = rear and white = front as that is how it's done in N. America.

    I truly appreciate your input.

The train that is fully into the station is the Down train, ie the one heading East. The One just coming into the station is the Up train, heading west.

For those of us growing up in the 1950's and 60's, decoder rings were cool toys. smiley

I did not grow up in the 1950's or 1960's which might explain why I did not know what they were.

    Actually

Bees, I'm infested with bees or possibly they're hornets.  Ghaaaaaaaaaa, oh god! there's another one....  gotta run!

I'm filling a cup with dead bees.  This will be a present to my landlady!

I think the bee invasion is over.  I think I've killed the entire nest, one-by-one!  A few weeks ago, before I left for Florida, the owners of the house I rent an apartment in fixed the vinyl siding, replacing sections that had holes created by rocks thrown from the driveway by lawnmower or snowblower.  I believe a small nest of hornets had established under the siding and were trapped when the outside hole was fixed.  After a few weeks the food ran out, the queen died, and the survivors wandered without purpose.  Some of them found a way through the wall to the interior into my apartment.  For the last couple of days I'd get an unwelcome visitor or two every hour.  Big ones, little ones (newly hatched), and middle sized ones but all apparently the same family.

I don't know where they got into the apartment but since I keep my living quarters dark like a cave (it keeps the mushrooms in my ears healthy) they would inviariably head straight for the brightest light in the room, the cracks of light behind the window blinds.  Then they would wander on the glass able to see freedom but trapped in their doom as I crept up behind them, slowly raised the blinds, and swatted them.  One or two were lucky enough to emerge when I had a lamp on and would fly to the lamp and wander around inside the shade.  Unable to swat them inside the shade I'd open the exterior door and stick the lamp outside and shake it, freeing the fortunate refugees, who will find it very cold outside, and probably quickly die or get eaten.

All in all I have a cup of about a dozen dead ones,  And there are at least that many that got swatted and fell behind computer equipment and will probably stay there until I move again.  Add that together with the four or five that made to freedom by heading toward the light (pun intended) that makes about 25 that I've dispatched.  Today there have been no new unwanted visitors.  I think the invasion is over.  The enemy has been vanquished. yes

    Well, nothing lasts forever..

Just got nformes that corporate headquarters for Assa Abloy, the company that owns Ameristar, has decided to kill off not just the current R&D project, but the entire R&D department!  Wheeeeeeeee, it's a massacre! indecision

HOWEVER, there is some good new - the uppers in our company wrangled up 4 weeks for "shut down activities", so I'm not out on the street.  And in low burn rate mode, for every week I work I can put enough away to last another week, so in effect I have 8 weeks to find new work.

My headhunter has two leads already, apparently in Tulsa I'm hot property (lol)!  So, I have no stress, no fear, just a strong sense of dissatisfaction sin e we had the damn thing working out back.. le sigh, this is not the first project some corporate dude killed before we ould ship it.

I feel sorry for the other folks.. they have big bills, roots in Tulsa, and can't just throw everything they own in 2 duffel bags and move anywhere. sad

It's not unexpected.  This project has been one of the hardest, most disaster-filled projects in my 38 year career. Eh.  Great learning experience, and everyone in the company told me I'll get a solid gold reference.  I made my customer happy, we did things nobody else has pulled off, so this goes in the WIN column.

On to the next adventure! laugh

    Now, THAT's a bedroom community.indecision

Ancient complaint: We need some standardization where scale is concerned. Each vendor releasing a rail model uses a different scale. Can't intermingle different models.
