Is it safe?   Sorry, Marathon Man reference... "Is it safe"... If you don't know the scene, it applies well...

Yup, that's it... Poor Dustin, what a bad dental plan he had.

I've been gone three days and come back to find 87 new posts and one missing tooth.

First day at Universal Studios. smiley (Would include photo but apparently my laptop SD card reader doesn't read the SD card from my camera.) sad

Rented Electronic Convenience Vehicle (ECV) to save wear and tear on my knees and ankles and heart.  Put my legs out nearly straight onto front projections and leaned back and pretended I was on a big motorcycle zoom zooming my way through the crowds.  I found an excellent way to wake up gaggles of photosnappers blocking my way.  Instead of beeping the pathetic little horn on the ECV, or poking the lollygaggers with my cane, I do my best imitation of a Minion and loudly siren "BEEDO BEEDO BEEDO" devil

I took advantage of the 1 hour early entrance that came with my hotel/Universal package and made a bee line for the Harry Potter areas.  "Escape from Grinigots" is a hoot! laugh Later in the day the lines were discouraging.   While still in Harry Potter area I had what was billed as a big, full english breakfast in the "Leaky Cauldron" complete with mushrooms and a black sausage like thing. no

Rode around on my ECV mostly.  Very slowly, and lurking in dark corners, watching the unsuspecting people.  Ready to pounce at a moment's notice. devil Had a beer in the shade near the dinosaurs. Snacking was expensive.  Beer was $6.  Small bag of potato chips was $3.19 surprise  Excellent seafood dinner at Bubba Gumps. smiley  Got back to my hotel at 6:30 PM and was asleep by 8:00 PM surprise  Aww, poor LG, all tuckered out!  That's why I'm up at 3:00AM talking to y'all.

Discovered that there is a 3D Dr. Who movie cool and it's playing at the Univeral Cineplex so I'm hoping to fit that into my schedule tomorrow.

Really, really getting into Bryce.. and the above rendered in four minutes on the second highest quality setting!

...agh buggered software again. Got the "Page Not Found" error trying to post after I grabbed a couple freebies from the store.

Very Nice,  Interested in hearing the song it inspired.

Sounds like a good time.  I would love to go to the Harry Potter areas.  Right up my Alley.  cheeky

Thanks for the BEEDO.  My 4-yr old grandson is working on a Minion render and has spent 2 frustrating days trying to teach me what they say.  Seeing it in print makes sense now.  I'm beginning to think Minions are worse than Tribbles.

Bryce has always been teh awesome for atmospherics :)

The learning curve has been tough to climb, but it's very rewarding!

I bought the Practical Bryce 7.1 Pro package today, that should help even more! smiley

...well Teen Josie for G3F is out and she looks nothing like her predecessor for G2F.

Much more petite however she has those big "fey" eyes that are a trademark of Thorne.   As I learned there are two body shape versions, one normal and one "skinny" that can be loaded.  Interesting, but not biting yet until updates to Skin Builder and Growing Up are out and I have enough funds to get the Head/Body Morphs as well as the Genesis/Gen4 fit clones.

Actually with the skinny body shape and those big eyes, don't see much of a need for a Giselle 7.

...ah, one other bit of news.  Learned that E-on has merged with the architectural graphics firm Bentley Systems located on the East Coast.  Not sure of the implications yet ins spite of what  an email from E-on mentioned.

E-on is currently based here in the Portland area and has become a major player in both the motion picture and architectural CG sectors . Aside from Vue they also offer several professional architectural applications which is why they caught the eye of Bentley. According to the email, support for and development of Vue should not be affected but only time will really tell.

Years ago the primary client for my old company went though a similar acquisition by another firm on the east cost.  Almost all of their operations were relocated  from San Bruno in California to the new parent's location just outside of Philadelphia which created a time issue due to the three hour differential. If anything came up after 2:00 PM here that needed consulting with the client, it had to wait until the next morning and they often had to wait until 11:00 AM their time to contact us so more than a half a day was lost.

If E-on is forced to pull up stakes and move east like my client did, it will be yet another blow to the local area both economically as well as reputation-wise.  Many companies have already left the state over the years, mostly due to tax issues.  We don't have a lot of decent paying jobs out here the way it is.

Yeah, I got that E-On letter myself.. don't use my ancient copy of Vue any more as I find Vryce to be faster to do what I need, but I imagine some folks in Hollywood might be getting a bit concerned, as
Vue is used a fair amount for environments.. urgh. indecision

Some Vue users on the forums are a bit worried as to what it may mean for the future of Vue

I think I have Vue 8 with a bunch of modues.. might still have them backed up on my USB drive.. might search for them for laughs.  I'm not sure if they're still activatable without a long, hard fight! angry

Bryce is fine for my needs, I'm not making movies.. indecision
