For some clothing items yes, you can right-click and select the option to "fit to" > none. Position the item where you want it and "parent it" there. Depending upon the age of the rigging, etc. it may or not stay put. Depending upon "why" you're wanting to unfit the article of clothing, it might be easier to "hide" the foot or toe for example. Then it will still move with the figure.
