I am not sure I understand what's going on with genesis 9 males however the recent releases have some disappointing issues with the bodies the bends and movement look odd to me, and they seem to lack definition/hd.

There has yet to be a male G9 character I really like, which is really disappointing. I've been trying to work with it, but it's not really doing it for me.

Just the opposite for me. While there are some features and details that I finally got for G8 that have not yet been created for G9, I have been able to create some nice workable G9 characters for my projects so far. Then again I mostly work with female characters

Yes, literally the opposite because I don't care about female figures. I personally feel G9 was made with female figures in mind. It's basically an updated V4M, imo.

I would love to see how Faber Inc's first G9 male character turns out.

I actually want to use genesis 9. But right now there simply isn't enough masculine stuff to build what I want and I'm beginning to question if genesis 9 isnt going to be worse than gen 8.  With each generation, I've seen improvements but this is the first generation for me that hasn't take such a leap with the exception of the face.

I'm not referring to the female figures, but the males.

    HOLD IT!

So you successfully transferred G8.1 along with K.M. Image's UNBM?!

Or better yet, is this your own sculpt?

If the former, then this changes everything!

But if it's the latter, then holy F* that's some magnificent work!

    Question..

Are those complaining of G9s bad joints etc turning on all the corrective sliders, some of which are off by default for some reason?

That looks like HH Belle's body mostly. And my question is: If not for HH Belle, would you still feel the same about G9?

By the looks of these arms and armpits, your opinion appears to be visually verified. That is what V4's armpit looked like.

I didn't mean literally, or about joints. I meant in the same vein as a male shape morphed out of a female-focused mesh.

We did not have to check whether corrective morphs turned on or not for normal looking elbows, knees and shoulders. If that's a trade off for a better looking face... I don't know.

The ones that do not default to 100% are not as likely to be used - they add details on top to FACS (expressions), poses (I assume the JCMs, braodly), and the last adds flexions (the tensing of muscles according to which joint is bent and by how much - though it has to be a gneric setting, it can't account for direction of travel or resistances)

Two points stick out for me, the face is too cartoony, and secondly, while the anatomy is on point, as her physique is nothing short of magnificent, I'm not entirely sold on the JCMs, while I do give credit with the attempt, it does not look natural, but I blame noodle knees nine for that, as the base's joints are too bare-boned, I'll most definitely get her for the physique though, especially useful once the UNBM comes out!

I'll most definitely snag her when she's on sale!

Go on ArtStation and look at some of the model photos. If you think their legs are consistently too short, well.

Also if you think the legs are too short, it's trivially easy to change that. (Proportion Leg Length being the most obvious)

ArtStation is huge, not sure where to look for this? Unless you mean in general.

Can you provide a link because I would like to see what you mean?

Go to a cafe'!  Sit with a nice cupt of coffee or tea and observe.  Real world proportions are all around you.  That's why I laugh when folks say "He's not masculine enough" or "she's not ........ "  All anyone has to do is just go and observe.  As suggested, if you are unhappy with the default size and shape of the figure there are many many dials to change that.  Then save that out as your main figure to work with and load that each and every time for your starter base.  We all have our likes and dislikes about body and face shape but then we have idealized visions of what the "perfect specimen" is  and that's what the morphs are all about.

@richardandtracy I would guess the average is from the US southwest. I technically live around there and Base G9's face almost looks like mine. (My user pic, as of this comment, was made with G8.1F.) G9 is still taller than me.

I only really used scaling on G8, if I was doing renders of multiple figures 9n the same scene. Otherwise , I just used them as if, even is they were "too tall." But I prefer G9's proportions and even adjusted some shapes to match before trying to convert them to G9.

I'm 5'5'" which is a completely average height for women in the Northeast US. I don't stand out as being tall or short when I stand in a crowd. My husband is 5'10"...which again is a completely average height for men in the Northeast US. I am of 100% Northwest European blood, pretty much half British and half Swedish (3rd generation in the US) and my husband is half Northern Italian and half Sicilian (3rd generation in the US). I have stubby legs (to the point where I have to buy "short" length pants) and a long torso. My husband has longer legs and a shorter torso.

That's the other bit that folks forget about when they are idolizing a specific height..... torso and leg height ratios!
