Okay I'll state my peace.
I'm too vested in gensis 2 characters now to bother with genesis 3 , there is no tools to make older genderations compatiable with g3f so why bother.
I am still investing in genesis 2 figures & items when i can find them. which has taken me a while to learn to use them properly in animation. and I really would like to see more mainstream Male items instead of all this sleeze wear for females., g3f just don;t interest me. if the clothing were compatiable with g2f I may be intersted in buying some of the items but at this point i don't even bother looking anymore at anything gensis 3 female. its not a insult to g3f figures its just not what I want to be vested in at this point in time. gensis 2 is a really nce character
besides what will it be about 8 or 9 months and victoria 8 will be out :)
Well, hey, I went into it assuming I could pull it off.
Now, I'm not too torn up, I'm happy that I can make a wide variety of looks and 'capturing the look of one particular person' isn't high up on my list. But one lesson I've taken to heart is that, if nothing else, there are some subtle qualities that new body shapes can bring to the DNA mix.
And conversely, a shape like Beth or Eva by itself is never going to be able to give you some of the same effects that a suite of morphs will give you. But conversely, you could do it quite easily if you had a stand-alone, sculpted nose morph of the same shape. I don't think anyone questions that there's a value to any of the stand-alone DAZ shpes... except Corey, because dear God, what were they thinking? Rather, the question is if the price is inflated out of proportion to the actual utility they provide compared to, say, the old Ethnic Morphs packs... because, as you may have noticed, DAZ covered ground with those that they STILL haven't covered with stand alone figures in the G2 line.
You can adjust the nose bone and rotate it upwards or sideways. Same with the ones next to it eg. nostrils. Just click on the joint editor icon to show bones then use the widget to manipulate it.
Um. How do I do that, Zev0?
I can select 'Joint Editor' from Tools, but it gives me XYZ controls. Which don't seem to do anything when I adjust them.
Edit: Ah, nm, that's a G3F figure. The G2F doesn't have the bones you are displaying and can't be manipulated that way. Nm!
Sorry I assumed you were using G3.
This is probably true!
But the bundles always come with a number of poses, hair, clothing, and other accessories that are "usually" not in the other bundles and are still transferrable to the other characters.
I just got done calculating the cost of Bethany. If I buy the pro bundle, it would be mostly for the clothing that come in the bundle (love the tommygun outfit, but not so much on her). As it turns out, she's basically free!
Subtropic: Yeah, as I've said a few times that's how I got Ninive 6. 'The actual model is free!'
Hee. (And THAT'S good marketing/sales)
As for the stuff Zev0 pointed out, well, that's definitely a compelling selling point for G3. It's WAY easier to adjust facial features.
Yes, but I want to be lazy LOL. I guess that will have to do, but I probably will not sink loads of money into G3 just yet. Thanks!
To me, one of the ultimate failures of the entire DAZ sales pitch is the forced purchase of Pro Bundles in order to get certain fundemental parts of the anatomy. You want to keep kids from not getting the naughty bits? Fine, sell the bits separately or sell a higher priced combined set. But only including them in a bundle with a $134.95 price tag, much of which may never be used, completely negates the entire argument that G3 or whatever is "more realistic". More realistic than what? Gumby? In the end, even dynamic male clothing isn't going to drape realitically if all that's under the cloth is a bulged section of mesh, and relying on geografts only serves to introduce multiple texture related problems for both genders.
