Also, a few celebs who have waist/hip measurements close/exact to Olympia are: Amber Rose, Coco Austin, Nicki Minaj, Kim Kardashian, Beyoncé, Blac Chyna, Jennifer Lopez.  Is it a normal ratio? No.  Is it real? Yep.

AS a former dressmaker and costumier I know that the average dress sizes in the UK  was always waist 10" smaller than bust measurement and hips 2" larger than bust measurement.

So 34-24-36  for example.  I actually started making my own clothes because I could never get anything with a 34" bust 22" waist and 36" hips (plus of course I am only 5ft tall. which was also a difficulty.)

AIko 3 and Stephanie Petite 3 weren't the third figures using those names, nor were Freak 4 and Hiro 4 the fourth.  Using the number 7 tells you a lot more, IMO, then G3 would (and there's less confusion about Genesis 3 vs. Generation 3).

Personally, I'd like to see an improved David for this generation of figures... he was sorely absent in Gen 6.

    IIRC, my recipe for David4 on the M4 base was (M4 + SP4 + H4 - A4).  Then I never much used him.  Then DS4 came out.

Yes, OK. I'll shut up then. You win the argument. 10 out of 10 to you. Top of the class.

[Edit: Actually, no. That counter-argument is rubbish. What does 7 tell you? Nothing. What does G3 tell you? Genesis 3. So there!]

I think that is why the characters typically are branded as G3 AND X7, if you look at the offical Daz promo art. I wonder how long they will keep that up.

My apologies for coming off that way, it wasn't my intention.

Bethany 7 tells you it's 3 generations newer than the 4th Generation figures.  If you already know the difference between Genesis 3 and Generation 3, Bethany G3 tells you something, but if you don't, I think the 7 tells you more.

Or maybe Bethany will be a teen figure.

That makes me worried because I didn´t like any of the teens for Genesis 2. But maybe she will be well made.

Pretty positive working for a living is what made me put on weight. Maybe when I retire I can lose the extra pounds?

Actually that might work as I would likely not be sitting at a computer all day...

Yes, it is sitting at the Computer for most of the day that doesn't help me,  I was very active whilst working. Working a lot of the time in London it was quite often quicker to actually walk from site to site rather than get the company vehicle from the car park.

One of the gals at the salon is wearing a "fit bit" thing on her wrist.  She's a very busy gal, much more so than I since I can't overly work or I get sick, but one day she clocked 7 miles just walking around the salon for 10 hours doing hair, mixing color, shampoo clients and all the rest.  I was shocked!  7 miles in that little salon.  I guess that's part of my secret to staying sort of fit despite my health issues.

Exactly. For people new in DAZ figures, David 1 and David 2 is a poor aid in nomenclature versus David 3 and David 5 nomenclature, that automatically said you which is genesis and which isn't and which genesis he is. In the case of Aiko 7, aiko gen3 and aiko g3 is a source of confusion too.

maybe next generation Genesis will be called Genesis 8, kinda like the second Xbox was called the 360 to be more comparable to the PS3 naming. *chuckles*

Or Windows 10 instead of 9.

Go ahead marketing team, use that idea *wink* it's on the forum so its free *chuckles*

I tease, but I do think the 7/3 marketing is a tad much for me(prolly needed though). But at least third party figures tend to stick to the generation and not the Genesis revision.

I suppose that depends on your definition 'real people'.  Celebrities aside, my daughters have those measurements (which I listed above), and I'm positive they are real people.  I was trying to make a point that it may not be the 'norm', but real women do indeed have those measurements - without the use of corsets. wink

Eva7's Body reminds me of Stacey Keibler. Long legs on an athletic slim frame. I've been trying to replicate this body type for a couple of years now. Very happy to save $$ for Eva. it's hard to shape a beautiful pair of 38in seam legs.

I have a fitbit knock-off and was surprised how much I walk in a day (6-7 mile average). It's been instrumental, along with eating right, in my 100 lb weight loss. Gotta get my Olympia 6 figure back! Lol

Have to say this, Olympia was still a stylized voluptuous woman. Not a toon, but not "real". Not that I have issues with her. She was amazing. However she was fake as all(brilliantly I must say).

Oh she was real allright.  100% real from nose to toes!  I know because I had a torrid love affair with her many years ago.  The one I was seeing was blonde and if memory serves, she was about 50% of German descent.  Mine didn't go by the name "Olympia" in this mortal plane.  Hers was a more down-to-earth moniker.  I assure you, this is not literary license.  She was not fake!

There are women in the real world who look like this, and they can be stunningly beautiful.

    From the description of http://www.daz3d.com/summer-kiss-for-genesis-3-female-s

    Supported Shapes:

    • Bethany 7
    • Eva 7
    • Victoria 7

So it seems we will get new names for this generation, not Olympia 7 and Gia 7

The most popular figures will get updated and released as Genesis 3 figures.  The les popular ones will be phased out and replaced with things that we feel will be more appealing.

So then, by that peice of info alone, I'm prognosticating the following:

    • Stephanie 7 (Comes out every generation)
    • Olympia 7 (Already explained that curvy sells with more characters of similar shape announced)
    • Lilith 7 (Raved to be a "huge success" on the main page)
    • Mei Lin 7 (Had a notable number of content post-release and has a 3D Print model)
    • Aiko 7 (Second most popular character in DAZ 3D)
    • Keiko 7 (Successful successor to Hitomi with a 3D Print model)
    • Gianni 7 (Kept showing-up in sales and the "Top Sellers" list, Real World replacement of Freak)
    • Lee 7 (Had a notable number of content long post-release and has a 3D Print model; Real World replacement of David and Hiro)

Michael 7 is left-out of the list for obvious reasons. I didn't even bother with Teens either as they seem to have become more accepted as evident in Gen 6.

I'm sure Bethany will be out soon. But perhaps a male figure too. I was told we'd get a gen 2 male figure pretty soon. so I'm hoping next month. We've had a glut of female figures, and Kori was a fail in my opinion.

  • RAMWolffRAMWolff Posts: 10,351

We did get something for the Gen 2 Males though Serene.. it's that Snake guy from RAWN that hit a few days ago in the store.  Very nice looking product but I'm not into snake types of monsters so not for me!  http://www.daz3d.com/cobra-king-hd

Oh. Yeah. that's cool looking, but I was thinking another type of male...

Yeah, but that's not what we mean by "male characters". Creatures and monsters are not practical human men. This is why not many of us really count Minotaur or Reptilian as Iconic-teir bases, even though they're given the Gen 6 numbering...

    Ah. Fantasia morph.

I've noticed that there are suddenly a lot more morphs of plump to stocky female shapes with Genesis 3. Over on Rendo as well.

  • Oso3DOso3D Posts: 15,087

Yeah, with my female figures I almost always up the weight, though sometimes I find it hard to increase waist without also making the hips/thighs super huge.

(I need to get Olympia 6 at some point)
