We also have wild strawberries growing in our garden, but it is difficult to get enough to taste them when one is encouraging the birds into the garden.   They normally get there before we do.

I'm working on a signature, and I was wondering if the forum has signature size limit?

    Thanks.

  • SpottedKittySpottedKitty Posts: 7,232

Size as in character count, image file size, or onscreen acreage? I'm sure I remember there used to be some form of the last two, but that was a while ago and I'm not sure if the same limitations of the forum software still hold.

  • N-RArtsN-RArts Posts: 1,606

    Yeah, those.

Okay. I just didn't want to post anything that was over the (possible) limit, just to have to go back and resize it.

  • Dont know if this has been mentioned already (probably has),

Is there any way to search in a paticular forum? I have tried to search for numerous things the latest one being freebie shaders. Unfortunately I end up with all the posts that have the word shader in them, from numerous different forum area and nothing to do with freebies.

If i remember rightly the old forum allowed you to search in the forum area you wanted.

I dont know if I am the one thats doing something wrong. but its driving me batty.

Well back to the once a day having to log into the Forums.  REALLY DAZ, REALLY??  They are frigging forums, not a high end, high security banking website!  Get over it and fix it!  angry

But...but...if Daz isn't a bank,...why do they have all my money?

LOL.... Yea, I know.  I used to be THAT addicted too!  cheeky

I was addicted years ago, then took a break.  I recently fell off the wagon ... but now I'm running out of money again so I'll be back on the wagon soon enough wink

Well now that I'm a published artist elsewhere I don't have allot of use for much of the items here at DAZ 3D.  So that helps my budget allot.  My big purchases are tutorials, lighting sets, HDR's, merchant textures and stuff like that.  I still spend a bit and I still do give in and buy the occasional pro pack of a shape I like.  Mostly males because I like to support the male figure.

  • RAMWolffRAMWolff Posts: 10,366

Well it's saddness and relief that I'm going to greatly limit my time here.  Since DAZ insists on setting up the constant logging on like every day now like this place is a bank or something I'm just not willing to go through all this on a constant basis.  I'll keep tabs on a couple of the iRay threads but that's about it.  I'm done!  They refuse to take this seriously and I doubt I'll be missed all that much, C'est la vie...

I can't remember the last time I had to log in.

  • I only need to log in occasionally, often when I've logged myself out elsewhere such as on my work computer then I'm logged out at home too (but not consistently)

  • de3ande3an Posts: 915

I get logged out every time I go from my Mac to my iPad, or iPad to Mac.

    Its a pain.

I wish the forum would remember every browser on which I have told it to "keep me logged in".

  • McGyverMcGyver Posts: 7,085

I wish it would stop logging me out every time I stay away for a few hours... I wish it would stop logging me out while I'm reading something or writing something... And for the love of God, please, please, please, someone change the stupid message "please hold on while we log you out"... Because the only thing I want to hold on to when I see that is a big heavy, smashy sledgehammer.

    Grrrrrrrrrr!

HAHAHAHAHA  My sentiments exactly.  When these new forums were first on line I never got logged out.  Some code monkey hit the wrong button and some of us have been in this constant battle to keep the at LEAST the forum logon ON all the time.  It's ridiculous.  As I stated above, this is not a high security bank, it's a frigging forum!  Sheesh!

I don't know if there have always been two different "logging out" messages, but just now as I was being routinely logged out as I revisited, I saw a new message... Or at least I think I did...

I'm pretty sure the message has always been... "Please wait while we log you out"... Right?

So as I'm being logged out just now, I saw "Please hang on a sec while we log you out"...

Did I just imagine it was "wait" not "hang on a sec"...? Meaning that it's always been "hang on a sec" and I just saw "please blah, blah, blah..." And just filled it in with the rest....

Okay... If I didn't imagine it... +2000 points for sarcastic humor and changing the message... + 102.00367 Additional  points for the first time ever doing anything I've ever suggested in the entire time I've been here... Even though that's not what I meant.

If I just imagined it... 0 points and I need to get some herbal brain supplements or to at least remove a couple of these brain leeches...

I see that a whole bunch of my bookmarked forum threads are broken.  I do hope this is temporary.

We are looking at this. This is a completely different forum software and just the migration of the existing threads, images, private messages, etc., for so many posts was pretty rough since a lot of concepts from one system didn't necessarily have a correlary with the new on that could be mapped over. That being said, threads do have a correlary so redirects would be easier.. the harder part is mapping the almost hundred thousand discussions and almost a million comments in a way that wouldn't be super slow without building out a whole new system that sits in front of the forums that just handles redirect for legacy URLs. Basically, there are costs to it and we are investigating what the pros and cons are. It is one of the things at the top of our list in relation to the forums we are looking at.

I assume you knew before implementing the new system that it would decimate the existing bookmarks.  Am I right?

How do you embed a youtube video here?

  • ChoholeChohole Posts: 33,604

embedding is very simple   Click on share under the you tube video  copy the link which pops up and simply paste it into you post.   No formatting needed, a simple CtrlC CtrlV action and you will find an image in your post when you post comment.   Click on that image and lo and behold, automagically you have a video link to click on.

Content Library pane > click the rectangle with horizontal lines in the upper corner > Content DB Maintenance > Re-Import Metadata

The User Data will be listed at the top.

Make sure you're checking your FORUM messages, not the site messages. Forum messages are here: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/messages/all (Gear icon in the top right corner, then "Inbox")

I wish the Forum search facility had an advanced option. I have a question about INJ's that I'm sure has been asked and answered before but I can't discover a grammar for more precise searches. When I enter multiple search terms they all seemed to be "OR"d together, and I just want to read forum posts that contain all of certain key words. Searching a single forum, or even a single thread would also be nice. For instance, I don't know how to check (without reading 64 pages in this Forum) whether others have asked for advanced search capabilities, they are under development, or they already exist.
