Thew G2F version of Skyler should work in Poser... Reinstall Studio, make sure you have the G2F Starter Essentials installed, as well as the default lights and shaders. From there, you can map the Studio Library to your runtime, and it should just work.

Nothing shows up in the poser library, as you can see from the attached image. All that shows up are the basic male and female characters. There are seemingly no Poser related files in the product, so there is nothing the Poser library can recognise to add an entry for.

You'll have to muck about with the material settings, since there aren't Companion Files, but I'm sure you're used to that.

That is the source of my problem... I'm not used to it. I haven't bought much content for a few years now, so I have no experience using the Genesis content. I only have a single Genesis purchase in my whole product library and nothing from the Genesis 2 line of products.

The Poser companion file option seems to have been removed. I managed one type of bodged export, but it left me with a basic character with almost no morphing options.

I'll write this off as a bad (and costly) experience, and stay away from all third party crreated Genesis content, that's probably my safest bet.

Edit: Just a quick update... maybe my stupidity is starting to fade. I have just watched a very helpful video on YouTube, that goes through the process of creating the Poser Companion Files for a Genesis figure. Turns out I wasn't looking in just the right place for the option for the create companion files option. Along with a few other tips that I hadn't previously seen, I have now managed to get the Skyler character into Poser. Hopefully, there will be something that helps me with the hair and clothes as well... maybe all is not lost.

So maybe I am learning something... just shows, spend your life as a programmer & artist, and even after 30 years, you'll still find new things to learn. Now if only I was 30 years younger, I might actually remeber all those new things. laugh

Glad you managed to get it sorted out. I know what you mean by the memory thing... Although for me it's only about twenty years.

Check the huge thread about transfering morphs without GenX, it explains how to create clones too (they're just a special type of morph).

So, let me get this clear in my own mind: clones are what can be created by using GenX (or GenX2)? I ask because I have both but don't understand the whole process of making V4 clothes fit G2F characters. Having said that, it is quite a while since I tried because my results were so poor.

Have a look at this thread : http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/24093/P30/#357032

I had just found that thread after asking my questions earlier and it will take some time to assimilate all that information. There are a lot of terms I'm not yet familiar with which is why I'm having trouble grasping the big picture.

In short, the Skyler clothes have fit morphs built-in which ensures that those clothing items will fit naturally to the Skyler shape. So the question I still need to resolve in my own mind is how to add such fit morphs to other clothing so that they don't need to rely on autofit? I'm not necessarily talking about other generation clothing - just G2F based clothing at the moment. What I usually do is allow autofit to do its thing then take it into Blender, tweak it and smooth out the crumpled polygons.

I'm not sure that this method doesn't use auto fit, but you could try loading the Skylar clothes on your figure, then the clothing items you want to use. Make the Skylar clothing invisible, and fit the other clothes to the Skylar clothing, not the figure.
