    no takers

    now Misty has added a big fat juicy bloodworm to it

    - DS is now the dominant market, Poser user base is (I think) much smaller, the balance has shifted significantly.

    - iRay makes it relatively easy in DS to make very good quality renders.

    We are not allowed to speculate sadly but seeing as one can indeed use Genesis 3 in Carrara and for that matter in Poser with some effort, one has to wonder why DAZ has not implimented it natively?

    I am not going to guess at reasons but I am sure they have them.

    I am just a hopeless sucker for buying the stuff, I enjoy using it thats why and where there is a will there is a way.

    1) Not sure how to tell how many pages I have, but I have over 800 items in my install manager from DAZ * Just looked I have 33 product pages *

    2) Carrara use to be my primary software until I made the jump to Genesis 3, then I had to switch to DAZ Studio but I miss all the features in Carrara.

    3) I would buy more Genesis 3 products if they worked in Carrara and Iray was supported in Carrara.

    In the "My Account" section, you select "Product Library", the number of pages is at the bottom left corner (image attached)

    At least 100 active Carrara users, probably a good deal more, but probably less than 1000.

    Phil probably has a better feel than I do, since he's recently released Carrara-only product. All I can really say for sure is that my commercial thread in this forum gets comments mainly from Carrara users, and my commercial thread in General gets comments mainly from DS users.

    I've no way of telling if people buy a set for the CA build or for the DS build (or both). I have had one request for a Poser version. Also I have no idea what proportion of active Carrara users are also active purchasers of content. For the purpose of this discussion, I don't regard wishlisting as even a potential purchase.

    (cos my wishlist just gets longer, it rarely gets shorter . . .)

    I have 1010 items in my library. Half of them Genesis 3 stuff, excluding interiors, nature and vehicles.

    Tim,  I'm an active buyer so count me... count me. :)  I always buy Carrara content above and over/before DS content... however in either case I always wait for a sale... cheapskate that I am.  I seem to always be 1 poduct of yours behind, presently City Hall which is in wishlist an you can count on it a definite purchase from me.  Regarding wishlisting... a few... well more than a few are DS items that I can simply model myself easily, they are there to remind me to do so others might be textures that I never plan to purchase... like the others they are there to remind me do my own textures for and outfit etc.  If the day should ever come when I can model as well as you I"ll still buy your content... hey... it's Carrara content... gottta have it. :)  Besides... you have saved me the time by putting your hard work into it.

    Some of my big sets can take 300+ hours to make, (including texturing, DS conversions, promo rendering etc), so that's a lot of time saved wink But remember, we all started with the basics, and I'm still learning . . .

    I just checked it.  Nov 2016 (which was shortly after I restarted into 3D) I had 16 pages.  Now, a year and 3 months later, I have 43.  Yikes!

    I need to open some products. blush

    But I'm still lagging far in the rear.  The real race is between Cbird (135) and Wendy (131), at last count anyway.

    Funny, this thread was started to complain about the lack of Genesis 3 support.  Now all of that seems so passe'.
