Do you have Draw Ground turned off in the Render Settings, Environment channel?
Draw Ground is On
Thanks for the suggestion to check it though! I'm stumped. I loaded the scene, didn't do anything to it. No water.
1. Reset Iray render settings, 2. Load Pool House Iray scene preset, 3. Render. I get this after 56% done.
Yep, I cleared everything (great minds think alike) as I was using a different Environment Map, but thanks for reminding me to reset to default values. Working now- thanks Lindsey, you're a gem as usual!
Glad I could help. I had an issue where I had an environment map set so I could include a background. The map's ground was rendering as the pool water, turning off Draw Ground got the water back.
Okay, so ran into a small snag. Turns out I was opening the 3Delight version. Still looks good, but not Iray good. When I found the Iray setup, it states I'm missing a few files. They are.
Colored Wax.dsf
Colored Flint Glass.dsf
Granite Block.dsf
Cast Iron.dsf
All apparently located in a folder called "data/Daz 3D/NVidia MDL Examples", but I have no such folder. Is there something I need to update to get these missing files?
looks like your missing the latest version of the shaders, there should be an updated version in install manager.
thanks
Stefan
Did you update the Studio content?
I can't remember if they are in one of the Starter Essential packs or the default lights...(just checked...Default Lights and Shaders pack)
Thanks guys, found the missing files and installed them. It's looking great!
For those thare having problems with Access Errors when do Iray renders, get into your advanced settings and increase the size of your pagefile to some ridiculously high number. It'll still do squirrelly things to your computer when you run out of hardware RAM, but the rendering will continue rather than crashing.
I increased mine to just shy of 30GB across three hard drives, and I managed a render with a mixed group of fifteen characters (8G2M and 7G3F) in the Pool House.
