R3DS Wrap and eye issues

globallyglobally Posts: 119

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask for R3DS help but i imagine people here do use it.

I have been playing around and got some amazing resuts at first but i am struggling with the eyes. I have tried the lattice node but found that at 4 the eyes would be far from even and any level above that fixed the eyes but brought too much of the gen 8.1 shape through. Is it possible to use the lattice on just the eyes (I tried to add eyes by using a selection node but it said the geometry didnt match)? I have also tried using the brush with both project/move and project/relax but the brush just isnt precise enough. Any ideas would be great. Maybe someone could talk me through adding eyes with blender, if thats at all possible without messing the mesh?

Many thanks.

I usually remove morph effects from eyes (and teeth).
Look this video on how do it: https://youtu.be/XuQwnTd4Fok

If you make a taller character (eyes go inside face) simply export, move the eyes and reimport as a new morph.

thank you so much, I never thought about fixing this in Daz. I'm definitely on the right path now. I just don't it by selecting "eyes" in region select and it worked. My only issue is that I have lost the eye shape (ie the flesh around the eyes is now base gen 8.1) do you know a better way to keep the shape using selection? I tried selecting by surfaces but that had some weird effect. If that's as good as I can do I can always try and redo the eye shape in blender.

    thanks again.

Eyes have many parts.. be aware to remove morph from iris, cornea, bulb, etc..
If you correctly remove there should not be issues.

PS usually I don't make wrap in faces around eyes and mouth.. if you change them you could have expression issues (example: closed eye), usually (if not needed) I remove them from "adapting" in Wrap3D

all sorted now. Amazing how easy things are when you know about the right tools. Ended up selecting rEye and lEye and then repositioning in blender.

    thanks again.
