Hmm. I'm such a klutz I have to use a metal lathe. I ended up burying my tool in the workshop roof when I used a wood lathe. Too dangerous by far. I've made and sold a couple of hundred. Only one was wood, decided I preferred multi colour acrylic alloys. Anyway, interesting, thanks. Regards, Richard.
As using conversion methods for shoes tends to miss the mark, one can export out the shoes as .obj. In a modeller do any resizing work required for the target figure, then import the .obj back into D/S. Rig it for the target figure.
Over the years I have noticed that a number of customers really want their purchases to look like the promos. So this next one is a basic camera 101 tip: Use a camera and set the focal length appropriately.
If using the lovely product, UltraSceneryXT, in the Render Settings, the optimization setting must be set to "memory." Long story short, if one sets it to speed one is not likely to get a render.
Love this outfit, can mix 'n match the skirt and top mats :-)
Comes with a character shape, eyebrows, and a few presets to put skin and poses to the figure. Also has a shape for whether the corset is done up or not ;-)
I didn't realize that in adding various presets I was going to end up with 2 brows ... might want to only use one at a time lol ...
{the hair does not come with the set}
Also, since it's new it'll trigger the $1.99 basket ... this https://www.daz3d.com/real-eyebrows-layers-merchant-resource-for-genesis-8 will also open in PSP although it claims some features won't load. Have no idea what that is referring to. There are 22 groups of eyebrows to adhere to face textures. Each group has a left and right eyebrow so those could be mixed 'n matched too :-)

I love that dress too. The green and red are nice together and I like all the textures I've seen for it
I made a new material by using Lyra's blue eyes as a base. The character was 60% Kokoro/40% Misumi with some face adjustments too. The skin is Lyra's and to make her eyes I added Lyra's blue eyes to Clip Studio and used an Overlay layer to make pink and soft erased some of it by setting the watercolour brush to erase so some of the blue would show through. I also made adjustments to her skin's gloss and reduced roughness on her lips. I adjusted the hair settings too. The dress is from Alice and Her Outfit. I couldn't find a way to lighten her eyebrows. I might have used too much lighting so if I post I might redo with lower light intensity
In trying to get rid of the linking or whatever it's known as, between "Documents" and a folder called "OneDrive" [why does D/S insist on recreating that folder!], I made some discoveries and eventually found a restore to default button [M$ saw me coming for sure] and so now I have an unlinked Documents Folder and a D/S created OneDrive [which TBH or TBF other programs also like to dump stuff in there]. I will not be making any tutorials on how to do this. The problem is/was that more than just a link, everything was copied into both folders. If deleted from one folder, vanished from both. What insanity reigns over in the minds of whoever created that system?! For what it's worth, there is no OneDrive ap on board either. Mind boggling notion I'm sure, but not everybody wants to use clouds -- I've seen enough clouds in the sky, things fall out of them.
OneDrive is nothing to do with DS, but if DS is set to use it for soemthing it writes in the background (e.g. temp files) then of course it will recreate it if missing.
Well that's the puzzle, nothing is/was/? set in D/S to remake it but it still persists even with the new installation but not consistently. I think there's a ? in the OS system to keep remaking the folder {which by the way is now called Delete This} and inside that folder it makes a Documents folder. And inside that folder it makes a trail of folders for D/S ending with a couple of text files for a third party plugin. I tried deleting that batch in a different order this day so hopefully tomorrow it won't appear. I'm typing this through a Cloudflare error screen.
If the 'delete this' folder is present then launching D/S gets error messages. When I delete that folder, then D/S launches as it should.

I found out today the delightful guardian source for the protection codes that Cloudflare is using: Lava Lamps. A wall lined with lava lamps.
Having spent some good dollars to buy various programs, just gotta luv it [not] that the solution for various actions involves, installing freeware. What can I say.
If one does not have PhotoShop which allegedly can open and use .exr files, and one does not wish to use [for whatever reason] online converters -- G.I.M.P. to the rescue. One can load the .exr file and Export it out as .hdr or .png etc. However said .hdr file [for whatever reason] might not work in any other program [crashes PSP beautifully] However one can get the various .exr files loaded to one group in G.I.M.P. and save it all out as a .psd file. [test sample did not crash PSP unless one forgets to use converted files]
Now why would one want to know how to open .exr files, good question, because that is what canvasses are created to. Canvasses, yup, canvasses. D/S can make canvasses. Okay. Amongst the canvasses that can be made is one for 'Material I.D.' ... and what is that? Good question. It's a mysterious feature found in some [most] shader presets - over on the Surface Tab. So .... seeing it is a useful thing to have ... as WE proceed to figure out how to make Shader Presets [once more eh 'cause last time was SO much fun lol ...] we shall be having such a field present.
2 good reasons to be sure to include it in the Shaders/Shader Presets we make.
For a supply of raw .mdl files to assist the adventures of discovery, nVidia has gratiously made available vMaterials 2.1 [Download page for W, Linux and Mac OSX]
When running the installer, yes one can skip the program [we're not using that program], just install the goodies.
n.b. One needs to have lots of room for these materials, which as I recall will be in a folder called "mdl" under Documents on the C deck. Do NOT put these into "cloud" {I don't care what W11Pro thinks, we do not want these in a cloud.}
I have started the adventure ... with all the **** in RL these days, speed is not likely to factor into the creation of a whopping tutorial. So I've decided to put some tidbits in here and eventually, Lord willing as they say, a tutorial will become available hopefully this year.
The vMats cannot be used "as is" -- they require editing. So don't panic, just get them if you want to use them. Even if I manage to convert a bunch of D/S Shaders and presets for redistribution, people will still require said package from nVidia.
NO discussing "controversial matters" ... thank you. {I do get tired of having posts removed}
Ignore the presenter, etc. ignore the place aside from the fact it's a gravel pit. {thank you}
I'm posting this here because it's pretty obvious that this preserved in time figure would be of interest to many people in here. Please to note details such as how the wings are attached on his back, etc. Also his height.
Edited to improve: removed 1st video, found a better one of same figure without somebody's face jumping all over the place ;-)
n.b. whether this is a true find or an elaborate hoax is presently under debate elsewhere.

I'm still working with different camera, lighting, and camera settings too
Nice, I love experimenting with the shaders too :-)
