Inspired by Horo's Alien District, I made another image based on the previous render, copied one terrain for the background buildings, added a biker (sharecg by sergio).

Wow awesome work Adbc adding the bike was a good idea

  • @adbc: Excellent image. The texture you used for the terrains, is this a photo?

  • adbcadbc Posts: 3,115

    mermaid : thank you.

Electro-Elvis : thank you. Yes, there is an image mixed with two other textures.

    Electro-Elvis - thank you.

adbc - you beat me again, superb urban scene. The bike with the skeleton is a great addition (either the ground is not flat or the bike is a bit below it, looking at the tires).

The terrain was self made, the water is the elevated ground plane. Sky and ambient light by an HDRI and the key light by the sun.

Horo : thank you. Sorry if you think I beat you, I just wanted to do something unusual with terrains, initially I was inspired by an image on the internet and tried, it was not really easy after starting over and over again, ended in total with more than 50 trials for the three versions, the easiest was the first one. Oh, and yes the terrain is meant to be sandy and not really flat.

Again an excellent terrain scene, great materials, a shining waterplane and a matching sky.

adbc - thank you. Oh no, I meant that as a joke, I certainly did not feel offended in any way. I should have added a smiley to make it clear.

    adbc, this is great!

    Horo, your terrains remain spectacular.

The first one is another render from the cubist painting and used a cloud slab, modified from one by David Brinnen.

Then I made a new height map from another painting. This time a picture of a flower and girl. It was again smoothed, both via Gaussian blur in the photo-program and via Bryce. I played with textures and skies, often for both choosing one from David Brinnen and Horo. I placed the camera in different positions, modified the widht/length/height ratio. Lastly, the original painting.

    adbc, peaceful and serene render.

  • HansmarHansmar Posts: 2,895

Mermaid, adbc, Horo, NGArtplay, Yellow Pen, Thank you. No I wasn't bored. But I just quickly change some settings, start render again and then continue doing other things. By using the same basic scene you can do a lot of renders in a day.

Horo, mermaid, Yellow Pen, NGartplay : thank you.
