That's a difficult one. I did address the problem for US2 when the size increased from 64m to 256m. You could take the same prop and scale it up to give you something to zoom in on. Take a look here: UltraScenery Locator Columns. It may be possible to adapt them to your needs. Regards, Richard.

Place a primative on the surface, then click on the small square with the dot in the middle (right hand side of the viewport), second from the bottom in your picture with the primative selected. That will zoom the camera view to that object.

I usually create an extra camera and adjust its Y position in the parameters tab (even faster is to type some enough big number there).

The other trick I tend to use is to switch to Top camera, choose UltraSceneryXT terrain and zoom (frame) to it.

Then I put an enough big prop in the place, I am interested in and zoom to it from the scene camera.

If you press Alt key while choosing the prop, then you can drag and drop it to terrain and its position

is aligned to the terrain height.

    Richard,

I have your Locator Columns (thanks).  I haven’t used it much since I downloaded it but I will give it a try.

Thanks. I tried that yesterday with a primitive cube that I scaled up and placed above the terrain so that I could see it. My problem then was that I was zoomed in very close and navigating out was the slow experience.  Others have posted XT renders where the point of view is slightly above ground level.  I'll try more.

Thanks.  I’ll try using a camera and adjusting its axis parameter values.  Using the Alt key to locate a prop might work too but I think the camera approach may be better.

It may work, not too sure. Would be worth trying. If it was too small and in the wrong place, you could drag the entire group around during a landscape top view with the X/Y/Z arrows, zoom to the group and then focus on the area around the individual column nearest your point of interest. Regards, Richard

I can't remember if I posted these before. I came across them when I found that UlttrasceneryXT was missing from my DAZ Studio and I had to uninstall and install it again. working again now. :)

    Very nice, @Fishtales

I like the encroaching seasonal change @Fishtales. And right now in the Rockies, that could be in the same day/storm! Excellent work.

Thank you both. Here in Scotland in the hills we would have sunshine, then rain, then sleet, then snow, then the sun would come back out and the snow would melt laugh
