Gpu is not being utilised

As you can see in the image when I am rendering, cpu is being utilised completely but main gpu only uses GPU memory but 0-1% utilisation as power! Please help as I am new with daz and iray

  • Try changing one of those graphs to CUDA.

If you want screen shots use the Snip and Sketch tool (or Snipping Tool on older versions of Windows) rather than trying to take a photo.

How can I change the graph to cuda?
  • Click the V next to the name at the top of the graph.

not showing man, after knowing\ about cuda , I downloaded its toolkit, later tried renders but still the same results.

can anyone help me with it please (in detail) as I'm new !

Downloading the Cuda toolkit was unnecessary.

The log (Help->Troubleshooting->View Log File) will tell you if rendering has been done with the GPU or CPU.

Ok, that pic doesn't include parts telling about rendering, but the 4GB VRAM on the GPU is not able to render very much.

Attach the log itself (the txt file) to your post and we can have a look.

Ok, you have specified in Advanced Rendering settings to use both the GPU and CPU at the same time, which DS is doing, but the log does tell that you are almost over the capacity of the GPU (not enough VRAM).

is there a way to make it target towars more gpu for then cpu in order to boost the render speed.

or any method or setting to cut the render time!

Looks like you have a GTX GPU with 4GB of VRAM (maybe like my GTX 750?), and your main system RAM is about 8GB? And you have an AMD GPU with like 3GB of VRAM?

Looks like D|S tried to render the scene and filled the GPU as much as it could (3.6GB out of 4GB), which is about the point where W10 probably said "nope, I can't let you fill the entire GPU VRAM", and the render then fell back to system RAM and the CPU, and probably the GPU CUDA render engine never even got started.

The problem is that 4GB of GPU VRAM isn't really enough for most scenes with characters, and Iray doesn't use your AMD GPU. Unfortunately the fix is to either live with CPU rendering, or get a GPU with more VRAM (which means you'd probably also need more system RAM), or figure out a way to break up your scenes so they don't use as many resources, and/or use post production techniques.

Nope... GPU was doing it's part up to the end of the render, there is no message in the log about GPU failing/stopping.

In Advanced Render Settings you can take the check mark off of the CPU option, as long as the GPU is doing the rendering, having the CPU participate may even slow down the process.

There is very little to do about the rendering speed, which wasn't that bad anyways (3 min + change)., you would get a little faster if you reduced the VRAM load to allow IRAY reserve bigger working space, but in your case that would almost require removing everything from the scene.

Thank you sir for hearing me out.
