diffeo and bridge comparison

Well, I take it back...not switching to bridge...Diffeo is still the best bet. Bridge handles hair textures better, and maybe even skin, but I will just export the bridge, steal the textures, and use Diffeo...diffeo is much more stable and gives consistent results...bridge either fails or gives geometry errors half the time.

There is no need to choose since both are free. You can have the two side by side and use the best of both worlds.

There is no comparison, the bridge is honestly in its alpha stage yet. There is barely support for jcms, and in a bad way since they spread everywhere. Then no geografts nor shells nor G1 G2 figures to name a few main limits. As for materials the bridge does no conversion, it just provides a easy custom shader that you can then fit to your needs. That's similar to the principled option in diffeo, but the principled option is better because it also converts materials for what can be done.

Main bridge limits as for 2.3.1.1 (and these are just the main few but there are more):

    1. jcms spread everywhere that's a massive memory leak with HD figures
    2. no geografts
    3. no shells
    4. no SBH hair
    5. no G1 G2 figures
    6. no G8.1 FACS
    7. no material conversion

important note. The list above is not to be intended as a competition. But just to understand the bridge limits over diffeo, as the OP asks for.

I choose Diffeo as I'm in the process of moving from macOS to Linux.
