If I have the V4 base, can I use clothing designed for V3 or lower? I'm not clear at all about how that works.

    Clothing for V3, V2 etc will only work for V3, V2 etc unless you have one of the clothing converters, then you can convert them to the figure you want.

    Daz shop has some and I expect Renderosity and others would have them.

    Just search for clothing convertors.

    The most popular ones seem to Be Wardrobe Wizard and CrossDresser.
