Everytime I use the displacement brush tool, I get "an internal error has occurred" pop up - the program works fine anywaysm, except the error message covers my viewport.

Very frustrating.

another thread with same issue http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/22567/ was not yielding an answer.

Anyone know how to get this resolved?

Tanks.

You need to mention in your title you are using Hexagon as carrara also has the same tool.
you can edit your post so the right people can see it.
I get errors no matter what I do in Hexagon myself so am no help

I'm guessing Hex though... apply a level of smoothing before trying any painting.. and don't finalize it, just let it sit there on 1 or 2 times whatever level you need. when you export an obj it will export the smoothed mesh, you rarely ever have to finalize that smoothing unless you need to go in to the final rez and add tiny details or remove extra lines to keep polycount down.

Oh.. a nice way to get around having to apply smoothing to use the painting tools.. if you bridge from DS into Hex it has no problem at all painting on the base mesh.. no idea why.. but if you don't want quadruple your polycount then import your mesh into DS and bridge to Hex, do your painting, and bridge it back. Apply the created morph and export the obj from ds.

You're probably loading the model with textures, which runs you out of memory. The answer lies here.
