How to use clothes after importing model + clothes into Blender?

rybkapnrybkapn Posts: 3

Model and clothes have their own rigs. If i merge them, will imported poses also work as intended?

Please, describe your workflow for using imported model in A-pose for further posing it in Blender with imported clothes.

Are you using Diffeomorphic or Daz2Blender?  If you are using Diffeo, check out the blog.  Thomas does a great job of explaining how to make the clothing pose with the character.

    Thanks

This is one of the reasons that I have only tinkered with exporting DAZ Studio scenes to Blender. Despite the undoubted and amazing quality of the Diffeo plugin, what I have been able to do with the scene after export is so very limited unless I commit to learning how to do everything in Blender almost from scratch. Posing is cumbersome compared to DAZ Studio, conversion of materials, while admirable, doesn't match the IRay original unless you know a lot about the Blender node system and can make the necessary adjustments. And dForce clothing is a non-starter. I have not seen any description of how to drape dForce clothing in Blender using the native cloth sim but I have seen that others export yet again to Marvelous Designer for draping.

So the upshot is that the imported scene should probably remain static - pre-posed and clothed in DAZ Studio. In which case I see no benefit for using Diffeo over, say, Sagan (Alembic).
