    @Jamahoney: Thank you

    @Horo: You are right, of course. I made it hidden, because the bulb made an unwanted shadow on the floor and I forgot to switch off the hidden flag.

    A result with which I am satisfied. The only thing that bothers is the underside of the sphere, it looks as if there is a little reflected.

    I have rendered the picture with displacement and set prority to high without that Bryce crashed (render time 8 Min.). Is this a unknown Easter Egg ?

    @electro-elvis: Thanks. I like your chair render, the lighting is awesome. Probably a silly question, but how did you get the dust in your scene? (still a Bryce noob after umpteen years messing with it)

    @Horo: Thanks!

    @Jamahoney: Thank you.

    @Roland4: I like the finished result. Which version of Bryce are you using? I'm using 7 Pro with Windows 8.1 and it crashes constantly. On the upside, I've learned to save after making any little changes to a scene.

    I am using Bryce 7.1 Pro and Windows 8. Bryce runs mostly stable, but sometimes crashes. How stable Bryce runs, is dependent from the memory (RAM). I have a laptop with 8 GB RAM and a CPU Core I7 which run very fast.

    edit: If i load the files with which i used displacement, Bryce crash's.

    @dragonfall1221: Thank you. The dust particles actually are very small lattices with a curved form. They have a mirror material with 100 % ambience and no shadow. I spreaded them over my scene with the Bryce function "Random Replicate".
    I think, you can get similar or even better results with a haze material, where the particles are part of it, but I am not that good with the DTE. The drawback with my approach is, the file size of the scene grows rapidly.

    Might be of use - a low poly obj of Comet Rosetta 67P/C-G, below, from ESA.

    I give up with displacement. The result with bump mapping is good too.

    That looks good. And might suit what I have here. Use instancing to make a lot of better looking asteroids for scene 9 - by David Brinnen

    The second picture is by Peter Stammbach and is one of my Wings 3D shapes done in Modo. It is interesting to see a him take a different approach. Here is the link to his video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBzpZS8FF4Q

    Edit. By the way, just thought I would mention that my email domain is on the fritz so if anyone is trying to contact me, sorry. It's broken. Hopefully the gremlins will be shooed away soon and normal service can be resumed.

    Three renders using GeoControl2 terrains. The second and third are the same terrain only 90º to each other. They are also stacked 1024/2048/4096.

    @dragonfall 1221: Real nice lighting in that scene.

    @electro: Nice touch adding the dust.

    @David: Nice videos and results.

    @Roland: Sphere with design is real nice, as is the ear rings and box.

    @Horo: Nice looking space scene.

    @Sandy: Terrains are looking good.

    @Jamie - thank you. Just cobbled it together to show off the comet.

    @Roland4 - nice set of ear rings. Are they different for the left and right ear? :-)

    @Sandy - cool terrains.

    The ring for the right ear does not have a sparkle.

    Cheers, David have all your 'spacey' vids on a Fav file...always a great reference.

    Nice one, Horo...almost looks like something smashed into the comet, which currently is out-gassing, too.

    Not a render but this is worth watching.
    Modelling from photos in wings.
    The videos are speeded up so you cant see all the steps
    but I thought it was impressive.

    A new ring with a little bit glitter. For lighting I chose a 3 point lighting with three additional light sources.

    @Tim Bateman: that is so cool. I've been staring at it for ten minutes now.

    @Roland4: nice ring and charm. Is Bryce still crashing on you? I'm running it on a laptop with 6GB RAM and iCore 3. I've found that manually starting it in compatibility mode with Windows XP SP 3 every time has stopped most of the crashing. For some reason on my OS it keeps defaulting back to Windows 8.

    When I open some files where I worked, Bryce crashes immediately. I have a laptop too, with Core i7 and 8 GB RAM. I am with the speed of rendering and otherwise satisfied.

    @Tim Bateman: That is such a neat looking image. Sphere is terrific.

    @Stuart: Those videos are cool, especially creating the gas can.

    @Roland: New ring is very nice, I like the one with the silver inlay. The puppy charm in the box is super.

    @Jay: That's a very clever image and nicely done. So does Vicky ever stop running or catching herself coming and going?

    Again some really impressive images.

    There is so much to play with at the moment, that and trying to get a friends website up and running :)

    Anyway.

    @Tim - very nicely done - more elaborate as it appears at first glance.

    @Stuart - interesting videos. Wings is used in a new way, but then, I'm not the Wings expert. Thanks for sharing.

    @Roland4 - more wonderful jewelry and boxes.

    @Jay - incredible idea. Never ending running, what a nightmare.

    @Sandy - very hazy but believable.
