    I am using PC version of r Daz 4.14 and it crashes whenever I try to create new subfolder.

    See attached error report I saved when it crashed. I just want to know why.

    Now that we know it's not compatible with macOS Big Sur, when will it be? It's listed under known issues so I'm assuming it's supposed to work and not an intended issue. I updated my computer in the hopes of fixing my issue with the program not working with Catalina (I've tried it on my laptop too that's still running on Catalina and i can't even install DS with this latest Daz update. Including the install manager) and I can't go back. I hope it gets fixed soon!

  • My graphics is the NVIDIA GeForce GT 710, if I upgrade my program to this one will I no longer be able to use it?
    I can't afford a new card.

    Kill the "DAZStudio" background process that you can find from W10 TaskManager, or if the same issue exists in Apple's UN*X, "ps".  The work-round (to stop it happening again; it doesn't fix the bug) is in this comment:

    If that doesn't work; i.e. if you can start a DAZStudio 4.14.0.8 once but never again (without killing the background process) then I think it would be a good thing if you, along with everyone else, submit a ticket with such information as you have.  I find it incredibly annoying and, while I have worked round it myself, I'm not inclined to simply blame Daz; if more people had submitted tickets against the beta maybe this wouldn't have happened.  It's still Daz's fault though.

    I just have a 4.12 from before the only run one ... and open that to do odds and ends...  but daz acts like it still has deep core programming from when it was first done
    sloggiest program I run on my computer dual zeons 64g ddr 4...  but early versions were just as bad way back when.

    sometimes I wonder if cracking it open would find a process working around the old 640k bit

    To fix this for me, I found I need to log out of Connect before exiting DAZ3D.  Network connections are a "non maskable interrupt", which is geek speak for "stuck".

    If the scene uses a iray section plane node, then the rendering after some time goes to the CPU... As I see, this problem is present in everyone.
    Too bad, I will still have to use version 4.12.0.86 (this is the only stable version so far)

  • HELP NEEDED ON DFORCE SCENE. Paid job.

    Hi. It is a bit of an odd demand, but I am really stuck on a scene with DfORCE. I guess it is a bit like posting a job, here : Anybody could show me via screen sharing how to solve my issue ? I just need to animate hairs of a model with dwind. It is not complicated problem, but I am stuck. I really need to solve this soon...Good remuneration if you could help me. Wouldn't take long.   • I had to go back to 4.12, 4.14 keeps reverting to CPU again.

    It also wasn't compatible with Catalina. That part of the post was updated hours after people have been having the issue and reported it. I tried downloading daz onto my laptop that is still running catalina, and it wont even let me download it. Full stop. My imac was running on Catalina as well and wasn't working with the DS update.     I had no issues with Catalina. Ran like a champ. Wonderful renders and pretty snappy. I'll just have to wait and see what the dev team does. Wonder if they will update the code or allow it to be a Wndows Only applicaiton

  • Yes, 4.10.0.8 was running without issue using Catalina. Rendered a test with no issues.

    Do you mean 4.14.x? Because 4.12.1.16 and later did work with Catalina AFAIK (earlier versions didn't though).

     

    The previous version was compatible with Catalina. I was running it perfectly fine yesterday until this update. I tried downloading the program on my laptop that is still running on Catalina to see if it's just a Big Sur issue and I can't even install it. I can't install it or DIM. 

    Is there a way to download previous versions of Daz? And see if it works on Big Sur? I use this program for work, so I'm panicking.

  • Since Install Manager does not run either on Big Sur, I am curious as to how the develper team will release an upate if they do. Will it be an announcment on the home page? An email? Hard to imagine that one. However if the team takes a long time, there could be some movement away from the software to ther options that are working in Big Sur.

    i really hope that's not the case because this program is instrumental to my work and I have jobs to complete. It says its an issue, so I'm assuming its not intended and it should be working on Big Sur. If not they should've put it on the page and not had it automatically pop up in the DIM for Mac users. Because now I can be out of two jobs that need to be completed by the 27th for something we weren't told? That known issue wasn't there when they first launched. It came up around midnight EST last night.

  • So far I see the same info when trying to luanch on Big Sur. DAZStudio cannot be opened becuase of a problem

    When you look at the log I do notice this:

    Termination Reason:    DYLD, [0x1] Library missing

      dyld: No shared cache present
    Library not loaded: /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib

    I hope this gets fixed pretty quicly.

    What do you get in the log when you try to render? I suspect your GPU is no longr supported, and it will complain about too-low a compute level.

  • My stars I hope I don't have to buy another GPU. I know my Nvidia 770 is slow but Nvidia is still supporting it with the latest drivers.
