Installing Daz to Blender plug in for Blender on Mac?

AabacusAabacus Posts: 407
September 2020 in Blender Discussion

I don't see any recent posts or stickies about this.

How do I get the Blender script set up?

Just not finding a workflow for Mac.

Thanks, sorry if this is well covered ground...

Go to DIM, right click on the daz to blender installed file and show where the files are located and you'll see a zip file.

Open Blender, edit, preferences, add ons, install.

Drag the zip file into window. Hit okay, or equivelent.

Click the checkbox that comes up and you'll see it on the side panel. I don't know how well versed in Blender you are, but if you don't see a menu on the right, hit N and you'll see either a panel pop up or disappear and that's where  you'll find the bridge.

Flawless. Installed now. Attempting first import.

Of course the first import failed but...I at least have the scripts in now!

    Thanks!

    someone should sticky this!

I'm so glad you got it up and running!

Lol the first one always seems to. Hopefully you can get the next one to port in. You'll love the rig, it's so good!

For me, the needed zip file to install in Blender 2.9 was located here:

    /Users/myusername/Library/Application Support/Blender/2.90/scripts/addons/AppData/Blender Foundation/Blender/DAZ 3D Add-ons

Daz Central and DIM have been updated so that this manual step is no longer required.

Mine was installed in the wrong directory (../Library/Application Support/Blender Foundation/2.91/scripts/addons/DTB). I moved it over to ../Library/Application Support/Blender/2.91/scripts/addons/DTB and then I was available to install it in the Blender Add-Ons preferences. It now works as described.

Mine installed on my Mac unzipped as well. I duplicated the DTB file and then compressed it. After that I was able to drag it over to the preferences/add-on in Blender. Worked for me.
