Indeed, they wanted to maximise strong colours when they switched to colour in 1967, and getting many colours of leather outfits was going to be horrendously expensive... also, the wardrobe designers had new fabrics they wanted to experiment with so she ended up with some zany experimental outfits as well as some classy ones.

I'm in Portland proper (just north of the city centre) and the much ofthe fire is in the Southeast environs.  Officials have scaled back some of the evacuation warnings as the winds have died down completely so crews are able to get a better handle on things, though the Riverside fire (the closest to the city) is still uncontained. The smoke is still too thick for air bombardment crews to safely fly over the area and drop fire retardant. so ground crews have their work cut out for them for now.  We are supposed to get a bit of wet stuff on Tuesday and again on Thursday/Friday, but unfortunately only light showers instead of a good soaking rain so it will be of little help. Those late week showers are also supposed to be accompanied by lightning so still a little concerned. One of the few good things, the winds (though light) will swing more to the west/northwest by Tuesday so it should clear the smoke out of the northern valley and give us some relief.

Today the air quality index was above 20,000 which is extremely hazardous but it has dropped significantly by late evening (still in the hazardous range though at 400 - 500).  Hopefully I'll see an actual sunrise tomorrow for the first time in almost a week.
