Problem: Road Network using Single Vert or Plane

September 2020 edited September 2020 in Blender Discussion

I found an interesting link to this video regarding creating a road network in Blender 2.8x:

Now, the one problem I am faced with is that when I try to add vertices to a Single Vert or plane (the latter, after converting to edge collapse) to extend the road, by pressing CTRL and right-clicking, it doesn't add vertices, but instead opens a new application.  I use Windows 10 operating system.  How do I fix this, so I could add vertices in Blender by using CTRL + right-clicking?

That's odd, I never knew about that ctr right click shortcut. I tried in 2.9, if you go into edit mode, then select a vertex, it does indeed plop down a new connected vertex. If you have all vertices selected in a cube, it will plop down another cube where you click too lol. I think where you need to go to set it, edit > preferences. Go to keymap section, expand 3d view > mesh > mesh global then go down to "duplicate or extrude to cursor" and set that to be ctrl right click in both of them.
