it is really only a very annoyimg problem for me using Safari on my ipad which I mostly use because of the touch home / keypad security feature with autofill

half the time my finger works the other times I need to enter my ipad numerical code which often only comes up after a few failed fingerings

Firefox on ipad autofills it no input needed

It's been happening to me a lot over the last few days.  Sometimes everytime I hit the site after being away for about an hour.  Both the store and the forums.  I haven't compained before (that I can remember) because others have constantly mentioned it and because I assumed it was just some session cookie mismatch/expiration on backend servers/VMs (maybe they were rebooted/respawned and didn't reload session cookies; maybe someone cleared session cookies on a server somewhere; maybe some new rule required expiring logins after a certain amount of idle time; blah-blah-blah).

I'm usualy using Firefox on macOS Mojave with multiple tabs.  Until recently it usually mostly  affected the forums with relogin requests on the shop site only happening a couple times a week or less.  I'll check from my iPhone (Safari) late at night / early morning to see if the new sales are worth getting out of bed for. (sad, I know).

But really if there's only one login screen that does sign in correctly then all roads must lead there.  The pull-down under the Account icon and anywhere else there might be a login button to click.

I knew it. I knew it would happen. Just got logged out for the first time in a long time. Should have kept my mouth shut, so to speak. frown

I have sometimes noticed errors when the draft tries to auto-save, but I don't get logged out. I was downloading with DIM at the time, so it might have been hogging all the bandwidth. Just hit that refresh button and get back, minus the last few seconds' edits.

It is happening to me too but there are odd things about this website that I don't get with any other. Most of the time the response time can vary wildly and I often have to wait a minute for a page to refresh. I had put this down to the possibility that I am at the other side of the world and perhaps there is poor service to New Zealand. Not that this makes much sense as I can download multi-gigabyte files from other sites anywhere and at decent and consistent speeds.

The login problems has become a real PITA in the last few days though so roll-on that new store software in the hope that it fixes al these problems.

If I've understood correctly maclean's post, they've specified the logout problem won't be fixed!

And yes, I agree that this is probably a very common issue, but that the only ones that bother to report it are active members of the community.

Not happening to just a small base of customers. Happening to a lot of us, like with me, I just not bothered to tell. Keeps me from spending too much money here.

Seems to be happening to me a lot more in just the last few days.

Normally I'm one of those irritating people this never happens to, but it's just booted me out three four times in the span of three hours so it's definitely more squirrelly than usual.

I came in for the first time today (on the Desktop I used yesterday, Firefox, and only using one tab) It went into the store fine - I was able to look at todays deals, and as soon as I clicked on Forums - it logged me out again. I didn't bother accessing Daz from my laptop last night - so this is only device for over 2 days and getting logged out.

jeez this thing is making me mad. and what is worse is that if you open a thread from an email alert, after the login you are redirected NOT to the page you were visiting but to your profile home! :(

I get that every now and then. At first I thought it might be due to deleted posts, as well as the usual auto-logout, but after a while I realised the redirected links go to posts that are still here. And as far as I can tell, I was logged in all along. Argleblargle...

I've resisted complaining about this too but seeeing as we are pointing out the fact that these things happen to more than a few, yes, that is annoying.

    It's definitely gotten worse.

It's been happening to me for quite a long time now, but a lot more frequently recently. Now, it logs me off several times a day and I have to log back in almost every time I come into the site.

  • It was logging me out constantly this morning.

I backed out all the way to the top level www.daz3d.com and logged in there, and it's been okay since that time. (I guess I haven't been banned yet...cheeky)

(Any security that relies on passwords is kind of dumb. Why all the log in/out stuff? It's crazy.)

I have switched to Chrome on my iphone when coming here now, since it saves login information, otherwise I have to type in my name and password 20 times per day, literally.

Pretty much every time I visit daz3d, I need to log in again.

  • NylonGirlNylonGirl Posts: 2,294

I can't take it anymore. I've never logged in to anything so many times in one day.

I am using Firefox now on my ipad and just go straight to my account login page which autofills without having to finger home or use the security passcode, yes need to login everytime but at least it's one click now.

Saves me seeing Google whining about Australia on my Safari homepage too, might change that to Duckduckgo if they keep it up.

Exactly, that always happens to me!!!

You want to log me out? At least let me read the forum thread, don't redirect me to the home page.

This way, I have to re-login, to look for notification, and to find that post, then I can read it.

It will likely log me out again next time, so, at least, if I didn't need to reply, then I didn't have to make that whole procedure.

  • serious question.

how many have Do Not Track turned on / off?

I turned it off yesterday... and I'm still logged in. don't know if it's a valid datum point tho...

  • WendyLuvsCatzWendyLuvsCatz Posts: 40,665

    where would I find that?

I have adblock disabled on daz3d.com

Privacy and Security settings for your browser (any of them) should have a checkbox for Do Not Track.

With all the data protection laws, it's pretty standard now.

I had it set to Do Not Track on this Desktop in Firefox, just turned it off, will leave it on my laptop for comparison. But if that is what is causing it Daz3D needs to fix their backend, we should have to allow stuff like that to get the site working.

Nope - no difference with the Do Not Track turned off - when I opened Firefox again and came to the website I was logged out again. I have Keep me logged in ticked every time.

happening to me too. usually it was only after about more or less 1 day, and i reckon especially without activity/visit on the site. in the last 2-3 days it's been pretty much all the time, have to login again even after just a few hours.
