Is there a video on this yet?  I've been having issues in blender trying to find the "daz to blender".  The issue I'm having is at the part where you select Edit/Preferences/Add-ons and search "DAZ"......Thats where I'm stuck at and for some reason the word "DAZ" is not showing up in the search bar.  If anyone here has the exact step by step to fix this issue, that will be great.

Do you have the community addons enabled? Also make sure you have show "Enabled Only" filter unchecked. If its still not showing then it likely wasnt installed properly or there's a conflict with a newer version of blender and some files might need to be moved around.

I was having the issue where DAZ unzipped the file and made it useless for Blender.

Solution, navigate to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.93\scripts\addons There should be a file called "DTB" right click on it and "Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder". A new folder with the same name will appear but with a zipper on it, drag that new zipped DTB file to your desktop. Next open Blender, Edit > Preferences > Add-ons > Install. On the left hand side select Desktop > DTB.zip > Install Add-on.

You are the man, Madcow! Thank you :)

This worked perfectly after much searching. Not sure if I was having issues because I choose to use BforArtists2 instead of blender directly.

I found the files were put in a blender 2.80 folder rather than the new Blender 3.0 folder... I copied the new folder into my 3.0 Blender folder, Blender saw the files but Im getting an error message of some sort in the belnder add-ons area.

Ok guys I have Figured out the "Not being able to find or open the Daz To Blender Add on" in blender.

So i used daz central installed the Daz to Blender Add on or Daz to Blender Bridge what ever you want to call it. what happened to me was it installed to the wrong location.

    It installed to "C:\Users\PHNX\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\BLENDER_VERSION\scripts\addons\DTB"

I copied everything in the DTB folder went back a few folders to "3.0" or the actual version you have installed.

Navigate to scripts addons CREATE a DTB folder and paste what you copied into that folder.

open blender go to add on's and the DazToBlender add on should now show up in blender hope this helps.

    Blender Version: 3.0

    Daz Version : 4.16 Pro

Thanks. With 3.0 out I did not think to look in the hidden folders. Plus I was looking for a zip file. Great info!

On a Mac OS, DIM installs file to ~/Library/Application Support/ Blender Foundation/Blender Version ....
To fix this: Navigate to the DTB folder - Copy it and paste it to the following path ~/Library/Application Support/Blender/3.0/Scripts/addons

    Right Then

My solution was to copy the folder "DTB" from the following

    C:\Users\vijay\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.93\scripts\addons

    to here

    C:\Users\vijay\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\3.0\Scripts\addons

Then, heading to addons, and enabling it.

Official bridge is not updated for blender 3.0, you need this updated version:

    https://github.com/butaixianran/DazToBlender

    More information check here:

Before attempting any convuluted searches and repacking distros etc etc etc try this if the Blender side is not showing the plugin. Install the plugin from Daz Central. In Daz under File - Send To - Daz To Blender when the dialogue box opens tick on Advanced Settings, you will now see the plugin installer for Blender. Select your version etc etc and you should be good to go.

This... This right here solved the problem of the plugin not being available to enable in Blender. If you choose "Custom" as your option it'll just pop open a path chooser at the %appdata%/Blender Foundation/blender/ folder and let you pick your version of Blender to install into.

You are a life saver. This helped! I have no idea why they have made this so complicated.
