I like they're doing theme packs, but that also runs the risk of having no outfits you're interested in. Though what probably doesn't help is it feels there was very little exploration of a theme (there's essentially the same identical, flat, knee-high lace up boots 3 times). It feels as if there could have been outfits removed entirely and not much would change. They're also (other than one) pretty basic outfits with kind of limited appeal in wider genres.
The character itself is a bit odd too with overdone deep set crow's feet. She also looks almost exactly like a guy from a band from the 80s (and not even in the 80s, but when he was still doing music in 2007), which is hard to not see. Dforce hair still doesn't personally look that great (or very realistic) and with the extra annoyances of using it makes that not a plus.
So even though I wanted a Japanese character, there isn't really anything I like here. Which is a shame.
(maybe there will be an extra bundle of great things?)
Yeah, well I like the idea of this themed bundle. It just wasn't a theme I'm interested in. And I wasn't interested in the pirate stuff. And that's fine. I'm sure there are follks who liked them. There will be bundles I like that some others won't care for. To my mind this is better than having bundles that are a hodgepodge of fantasy, sci-fi and contemporary stuff mixed together.
I thought that was what they were going for!
Unfortunately assuming it's in Japanese it would be "Ka-Yo" not "Kay-O" (ka said a bit like "car" (though it depends on your accent)) so it doesn't quite work.
They should have done "Keio", which is actually said like k-o, but I think someones already used that!
Here I was thinking it had something to do with Kaopectate.
Personally I would love a wrestling theme men's bundle. I don't even watch wrestling, but at least I would find it useful to kitbash. =-)
Its this one, which is really nice and i love the waist jacket https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-tek-athletic-apparel-for-genesis-3-and-8-females
The problem isn't really the themes (which is also something I prefer to random stuff). It's that when they do themes like this, it can be very specific and narrow in scope within that theme. Which makes it perhaps a bit more limited than it needs to be.
Though I don't particularily care for wrestling, I like pirates, and lady pirates. But the lady pirate bundle was pretty much all "brown leather realism". Pirates as a theme covers loads of sub themes, from over the top, to "fetishy" to "historic" to "futuristic"/"fantasy" etc. So intead of being for likers of lady pirates, it was for likers of pirates whos vision of a pirate lady was pretty much confined to someone bedecked in brown leather.
Josephene was actually quite a good example of this done right. She had a theme (spy/espionage), but within the theme had an evening dress, some historic clothing, and a few other variations which gave her more varied appeal than 4 evening dresses or 4 bodysuits would have. Something styled more like Mexican wrestling (with some masks), or more styled like the outfits seen in Japanese womens wrestling (which would have probably made sense) probably would have helped a bit here.
Unless there's been a future update somewhere that added extra options, I haven't seen any surface capacity option to hide the shins or any adjustment morphs to shorten.
May be a modified mesh.
oh, man! i can't believe I didn't get that!!! I'd been wondering what "Kayo" meant in terms of this character
LOVE it!
and oh man, i really love that background! I'd buy a pack like that!
Its either modified mesh or custom transmap but if you look at the texture used its the same.
Waiting days is my policy.
Worst comes to the worst, I decide to wait months - which saves me more still.
Getting back to our roots. Some of them.
Wasn't Gia 6 loosely based on a specific female wrestler?
Can we get some video of the animations? Or a GIF or something? You should not use still images to sell animations. They don't have to be Iray renders, just clips of the viewport would be fine.
Its fine to be in a pro bundle, but you need to properly display the product so customer can see what they are.
Flair's has the bling and the tassels. It's a $10,000 robe! The robe in the bundle is just a large towel.
Also, the lack of any stylin' and profilin' poses in this bundle is a great tragedy. The description for Kayo says she is a great heel, so her poses (and animations) should reflect that.
I do like the model of Kayo herself, and the idea of pro wrestler theme. There's so much pageantry and craziness in the world of pro wrestling that would be a great fit for the world of Daz3D. Even if people don't like wrestling, the outfits and personalities can still cut across boundries as characters in 3D.
Here's a link to see all the animations. I just did it with open GL. Three of the poses are interactive, so you get the person attacking and the person getting attack'd reaction. Even outside of wrestling, I 100% can use the kicking and punching one for not only attacking, but the person getting nailed. The taunting or pumping up the crowd, probably not much, but who knows.

Thanks, @benniewoodell.
Thanks for that.
Sweet Chin Music, LOL. The animations for getting up or knocked down could certainly serve a purpose beyond wrestling. You could maybe use a frame of a taunt for a greeting pose shot. The last flexing pose, that would be a pose for somebody looking that themselves in a mirror in the morning or after a shower.
Thank you @benniewoodell that was fascinating. As far as the taunting, I had a flash of a Jabba the Hut crowd and Han Solo taking on someone in the room. Or maybe Princess Leia.

Dark Match hair seems to crash Studio 100% of the time I try to render it. Even if I have a blank scene then only add the hair, it still crashes.
Odd thing is, I have 64GB of system ram, and when I try rendering, it shoots up the ram usage to 80% right before the crash.
@jd641, If you post this in the PAs thread, I'm sure she will help you figure out what is going on:
*Released dforce Dark Match* Commercial
Just picked this one up, along with the HD add-on. Overall, I'm happy with her, except that her skin appears unusually rough, especially in the stomach area:
Anyone else notice this? Turning off normals doesn't seem to help. The other thing I'm noticing is that the HD add-on seems to have almost no effect on the final render. I rendered two images, one with the HD details dialed in (and render subdivisions cranked up to 4), and other without HD, and I can barely notice a difference when flipping back and forth between them. I don't normally use HD add-ons, so maybe they are supposed to be more subtle than what I was expecting...?
Several material settings can do that. If its not a normal, the next thing to check would be to look at bump strength. Then there could be gloss settings, like Top Coat Bump can do it, and others. And you can look at her base color textures to see if that detail is baked into texture. I would hope not, but that is a possibility.
This is a lower quality iray test of the new Kayo wrestling animations. Wow! I am not a wrestling fan, but I will probably eventually do a full quailty render animation with included hazy atmosphere, geoshell sweat and bruises, a referee, and perhaps even an audience. I would say this set is very easy to work with ... with the single exception that the dark match hair was too flyaway for all that motion (it did not crash my system). Just for the record, I am included in the fans of having animations included as part of a bundle.

Thanks, I'll try messing around with those parameters. It's a bit surprising that a core figure has this issue (assuming it is an issue... maybe I'm just being picky) out of the box, but oh well... I love the character overall, so I guess I shouldn't complain.
EDIT: Just confirmed that the Base Bump is set to 4.0, rather than the default of 1.0. Does anyone know if this is intentional / normal? Maybe it's meant for non-closeup renders?
^Looks really good
It probably is intentional. I have seen several models with values like that, some even as high as 8.
