Wow, that's an incredible price for "Filter Forge Pro". If its the current Filter Forge 4.0 Pro, its a heck of a deal at approx 30% of list. Can someone verify this is the PRO version, as the non-discounted price looks closer to the standard version list price from FF direct.

It's more than 30% off list.. if you go to their website, full price is normally $399, and as FSMC said, their $99 sale is going on until tomorrow.

For whatever reason, they're selling Pro here for a lot cheaper than they are on their own site ($158.95 vs $399)
I suspect that's probably an intro offer of 30% off. I don't think it'll be that price here past maybe 2 weeks.

I didn't see the offer this morning when I first saw FF on Daz, I've just bought it and went to download one of the filters that finally made up my mind and there it is for $99 but due to the fact that they use digital river for payment we Europeans (in this case Brits) get hit for 19% VAT (1% less than our usual rate) plus what looks like a rather seriously unfavourable exchange rate, in my little neck of the woods that'd tot up to around $168 all in (when in fact it should be around $131, inc. VAT at 20% if they had been playing fair on the exchange rates).

Strange, I'm in Denmark and I only have to pay $118,70 (19% vat included). But that's after removing the extra plugin pack.

God, Digital River. I don't think there is enough obscenities in the English language to describe them.

Yea I had a billing mess with Share-it or Digital River when I bought Filter Forge 3.... nice to see DAZ as an option if I ever decide to get Filter Forge 4.

Yep, I meant the 111 is roughly 30% of the full list $399 USD that I see at the Filter Forge site. I did not see a 75% off discount. but then again I did not go into check out. In either case I paid a LOT more than a hundred bucks for Filter Forge Pro earlier this year. I think it was $299 or such around the holidays when the new version came out. I guess its one of those products few pay full list because its routinely discounted.
In either case its a wonderful product. I also have Genetica and while you can tweak & tune texture parameters a lot more to make something unique, I turn to FF Pro more often because its so darn easy to find something close and teak rather creating from scratch.

    Quick question:

Is the plugin version supported / available in 64 bit versions of Photoshop? Or is the 32 bit version of Photoshop required?

Yes I know it works on both 32 and 64 bit windows. BUT Adobe Photoshop comes in both 32 and 64 bit versions and a lot of filters (especially older ones) are 32 bit plugins that only work in the 32 bit version of Photoshop (even if it is running on 64 bit windows). So my question is: if I am only using the 64 bit version of Photoshop, can I still use Filter Forge as a plugin?

    Thanks,
    Charlie

Hi, I run Filter Forge 4 within Photoshop CS5 Extended 64-bit version as a plug in without any problems.

That's generally why English has been so good at incorporating... select words, shall we say, of other languages, we can always expand the amount of obscenities available :D

Even with those I am still not sure if that's enough. (If you don't already) one dealing with their "Customer Support" and you may understand what I mean.

Then I guess I'm very lucky, I've used them on a number of occasions (not out of choice mind) and haven't had any issues... so far (it'll only be a matter of time though :-) ).

I'm surprised it's 32bit only, as it installed in my x86 Program Files folder on my Win 8 64 bit system. I have Elements 11 32bit and it installed as a plugin and stand alone. I was hoping Filter Forge would run as 64bit when used as a stand alone program.
I didn't see anything on the site regarding 64bit, only 'compatable'.

I suspect the plug-in is more of a bridge to the same code as the stand-alone version, given the file sizes - so the code doing the work is 32 bit in all cases, but once it has something ready to place in a PS/PSP/Painter layer it packages it up and passes it to the plug-in and that then passes the data to the host application. So it works like GoZ, where ZBrush itself is always 32 bit.

Yes, the plug-in in PS CS6E 64 launches FF4 as a separate application.

In order to use these in Paintshop Pro do they have to be converted ? I have PSP8 but am considering upgrading to the PSP X6 Ultimate.

I have not tried it with paint shop pro, but I have PSPX2 I think. I know it is a plugin that installed into PSP. I am not at home but I can try it when I get home. I do not think they have to be converted as it installed right into the program.

I remember in earlier versions that PS brushes had to be converted, but I don't recall how to do,maybe with a script, but reading on the PSP website it says PS brushes are supported and doesn't mention converting them, so maybe can be used as is now?

Filer Forge isn't brushes though, it is filters, and the means to make new filters etc.

That is true, ignore my question about brushes, got confused as I was purchasing Ron's brushes at the same time as reading about FF, but the filter itself is compatable with PSP correct?

I usually use FF as a standalone, but just checked, and I can use the plugin with both Photoshop, and PSP.

    Hi,

has someone of you bought FF at Daz now?

One of my friends did and has now problems with entering the right key.
The serialnumber is an endless long number. But FF will not accept the code.

Do anybody of you simular problems?

She has open a ticket to support but not yet get an answer.

As far as I can see the bit up to the |, not including the space, is to be used as the License name and the numbers and hyphens after the | are License key.

Only the numbers and hyphens after the "|" we have tried too but it failed.

You need to use the part before the "|" as the "license name". Did you try that? If you used your name it won't work. Once I did that it worked without issue.

    Hi Saruna.

I bought it today, and the serial number I got through DAZ does not work either. I put in a support ticket, too.
