Purchased empty tutorial [Solved]

Howdy everyone.

I purchased the tutorial "Creating Incredible Line Art with Line Render 9000 : Creating Line Art from People"  when it first appeared on sale on the weekend.

Only problem - the download has no video files - despite being a video tutorial package.  The other two in the series of three are 308mb and 413mb and have the listed video tutorials, but this one with the problem is only 836kb and does not have any video files.

As per directions, I've submitted a support request via the form, but, radio silence.

How long do support requests take to be dealt with?  The support request form has mandatory fields for 'Sales Ticket Tracker' and "Support Ticket Tracker" but no explanation as to what the heck they mean to a customer like myself.

This shouldn't be hard to resolve - it looks like they uploaded and sold and an effectively empty zip file, and I would just like to be able to download and view a corrected file.

OMG!! I thought that I was the only one!! I bought the  "Creating Incredible Line Art with Line Render 9000 : Creating Line Art from People" because it was the only one of interest to me. Once downloaded, the folders had only scripts in them and NO videos. I submitted a ticket but decided on a refund afterwards. I will wait to buy it once this HUGE MISTAKE is taken care of.

Videos are usually found in a folder called General, which does not appear inside Daz Studio.

Maybe so, but unless they're using a hyper-compression format, there's no friggin way they're squeezing a 47 min and a 49 min video into a 836kb archive: not when the other two packages in the series are 308mb and 413mb.

You do need to contact Customer Service with this.   The forums are Peer to Peer,  ie forum members ony  in the main.

  • hmm, they release 10? new products a day at most and there's no procedure to download a test set at daz and check the install?

Still no fix to the missing videos?

Did anyone actually report it to Daz by opening a support ticket?

Yes. I was in contact with Amy U from DAZ. But I thought that the fix would be as simple as adding the missing videos and notifying the purchasers.

Was that an actual human response, or a placeholder response to tell you it had been received?

When linking to a product please make sure you link to the store page - the Product Library page is available only to those who have purchased. I've added the store link to the first post.

It was a human response. Amy was very polite as we discussed the missing video issue and she wrote: "I will put this ticket on-hold until I receive an update from our QA team about this issue."

  • I raised a ticket, and have heard nothing.  How did you even manage to get a response?

I don't know how. It was not a quick response like in a day, however. Considering the current situation,it was a good response time. On a different note, it's over a year ago that I bought the line render 9000 script but never got any good line render results from it. Now comes a tutorial that has the answers and this happens. I really need this tutorial and I'm trying to be patient for the fix.
  • Is there a way to contact the authour of the tutorial? Maybe they could push it through from their end

I did contact the author and he replied with this: Hi. Check this thread out, it's talking about the same question. https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/401341/solved-how-do-i-view-the-video-tutorials-for-line-render-9000/p1
  • I have 3 product updates today in the Install Manager, one of which is the Tutorial which has jumped from 836kb download to 337mb.

I will double check the content it once downloaded, but it is looking good for resolution.

  • Correct video files are now in the download.  Thank you everyone.
