Have you seen this hair?

I should have put it on the side of a milk carton. The hair in question, which I've attadched an image of, is used in several promo images for Mylene HD for Genesis 8 Female.

That page lists Haydina Hair for Genesis 8 Female(s) as one of the hair products used in the promos, but I don't see any way possible for it to be the one in the image I've attached, because the parts are on opposite sides, and Haydina hair doesn't have a style that long. Any help would be appreciated.

It definitely looks like Haydina hair to me, maybe if there are style morphs. I don't have the hair (it's on my wishlist, but it doesn't seem to go on sale very often). Also with reversed geometry.

Don't be fooled by which way the part goes - the Promo renders often get flipped just to look like something different. I've seen 'the flip' used often.
My bet would be on VOSS hair.  (VOSS is one of my all-time favorite hairs.)

Mmmmmm, thanks, but I don't think so.

    Also with reversed geometry.

    Wait, wut? "Reversed geometry"?

  • Mousso has said that for another character, she used Haydina Hair but reversed it (presumably showing hidden properties and then changing X scale to -100%) and made it longer in ZBrush. So this looks to be the same.

Oh. Well, reversing it, and making it "longer in ZBrush" certainly could explain how and why it is, in fact, Haydina hair and fooled the heck out of me. Looks like I'll have to find some other similar hair that comes out-of-the-box for my purposes.

I feel fairly confident it is Voss hair. Compare the part, the smaller hairs that flip over from the left ear across the scalp, etc. This was a really quick render (forgive the speckling) only using the included morphs. If I took it into Zbrush, I could push down the hair on her right and pull a clump across her left shoulder.

Thanks, Phoenix. From what you've shown here, I'd have to say that you are dead-on right. So my apologies to everyone else in this thead who said Voss was it, and I naysayed.

It is downright weird to me that none of the Voss Hair promos show anything like that, or even hint that those styles are possible. The existing promos look to me like a pretty messy mid-short hair style. I would never have guessed or reached for it.

The Voss promos don't show how versatile it is.

Amen to that! And I can't imagine why. Sorry I doubted you before.

Though I agree that Haydina (unfortunately! Sadface) doesn't go on sale often enough, I would have to agree with Voss hair.

Oddly, I don't use Voss hair enough, as I tend to like my French-style bob cuts for my ladies. There aren't enough choppy, messy bob cuts in my opinion. I'd model them myself but the tutorials online always assume the viewer already knows the fundamentals!

The comments about Haydina hair not going on sale enough are funny given that it's on sale right now.

I honestly don't count it a "sale" unless it's at least 60% off.

And yeah, I agree that it's Voss hair now. I never realized Voss could do that. I have it and never realized how versatile it could actually be so I never used it much. Might have to change that.
