I recently decided to reinstall all my DAZ Studio stuff. I can't get PostgreSQL CMS & DAZ Studio to install. I don't get any error messages. How can I fix this problem?

I was thinking of spending some serious money for March Madness, but this problem is a turn-off.

You can read my final post to see the solution I found.

Make sure you install the beta, the general release has problems to open files under Catalina.

I don't have a Mac, but I think I've read somewhere that you need to somehow "authorize" the programs to install.

I've tried several times to install the Beta. It never shows up in DIM.

I did a search on the problem before I posted here. No one really addressed my exact situation. I found the solution.

My problems began when I decided to move my install files over to an external drive. Somehow I must have chosen the wrong option. Apparently my "original install" files were stored in two different locations. I kept seeing a different list of files waiting to be installed. In the end, I reinstalled Mac OS Catalina from scratch (several times!). Then I decided to let DIM use its default setup. Everything is fine.

good to know that its working now

You can tell the DIM to install to another location as well, just has to be told the DS program as well where to look for it

Linwelly, I told DIM to install stuff in a new location. I also told DIM I wanted the original files stored in a new location. DIM got totally confused. DIM ended up storing my original files in two different locatons. Then DIM couldn't figure out where to install DAZ Studio, etc.

I really wanted to take charge of my DAZ Studio setup. In the end, I surrendered, and went with the defaults.

  • On my mac I had a similar issue and I found that DAZ 3d changes the permissions during the install.  To fix this use this link and all will be well.

While permissions are often the root of problems, Daz 3D (by which I guess you mean Install Manager) doesn't go around changing them.
