My observation: If I haven't ordered something, Daz logs me out after a few days. I could be wrong, but it seems that ordering something - even a freebie - encourages the Daz software to keep us logged in.

The forums log me out and back in every single time after I purchase something.

I'm surprised nobody has suggested making sure your Nvidia driver is updated to the latest version.

I've just downgraded a couple of notches; much more stable on: 430.86 (using a 980ti). No drops to CPU when it shouldn't happen.

  • I don't have a problem with the main site, but the crappy forum has been known to boot me while I am typing a comment (as well as other times).

On occasions, but not since downgrading, but that is just coincidence; I've a feeling it will next time I purchase something. I suppose there is a fix for that then. :D

I use a password manager, so I get logged in again, so not an issue tbh; I also delete all cookies when closing browser - it might actually cut down slightly on the data farming.

It's called the store and site software are possessed by Satan.  I find that drawing a protective circle in salt around my workstation sometimes helps.

Hahahahahahahhaha do you have to read any archaic incantations while pouring the salt? And do you use rock, hymalain or processes salt?

Oh yes, and we have been told to log into the store page before logging into the forum. They are separate logins (!?!?).

No    you need to log in to the front page,   that carries both log ins and Synchronises them

What happens when you go directly to the forums (via bookmark for example) and click on the little person icon to log in there?

The best idea is to go to the Front Page.   Direct your bookmark to the front page.  THere are two different sortwares driving the forums and the rest of the site,  They are synchronised if you get a good solid log in on the front page.

Clear your cache,  clear your Daz cookies,  close your browser,    even maybe restart your computer to make sure you have fully cleard cache and cookies, then bring up a new clean instance of your browser of choice and log in to https://www.daz3d.com/

If you log in just to the forum, then you are only logged in to the forum software and not to the main site software, whcih runs everything else.

Are you saying that logging into the store www.daz3d.com/shop first is not good enough? It has to be www.daz3d.com (front page)?

Are you saying that if we log in to www.daz3d.com (front page) that we will NOT get logged out later? That would be great.

I doubt it. I've tried all the suggested browser house-keeping, etc., and within a day or so it is back to normal. Yet again the onus is put on the customer. So often with these things the response is: "it must be something you are doing wrong". When I log into a web site I don't expect to have to know that I must login to a certain page - and only that page - to ensure my login works. And if that were the case, any reasonably managed site would redirect me to the correct login page.

Yeah, exactly. I've tried every suggestion and it always reverts to the default behaviour - ie. booting me out. And if it's any clue, it happens without fail every 48 hours.

Very infrequently, I go to the Renderosity Poser forum where I've been a member for 20 years, and it still remembers me without having to jump through hoops.

DAZ needs to take action on this. It reflects extremely badly on the site and the way customers view the company. I appreciate all the suggestions and fixes which have been proposed, and they may even work for some people, but it shouldn't be left to the Moderators to make excuses for bad site software. If it doesn't work, fix it!

  • The logouts are random. I've actually logged in, read some threads, closed the tab - not the window or the browser - come back a few minutes later... And had to log in again. This has been in Firefox and chrome. Guys this is *not* a user issue. It's a *site* issue. Telling us to clear caches etc is not helpful since that will not fix a *site* issue.

Sometimes, the security software you have installed, including the browser you are using, can delete previously stored cookies automatically, if you set them up accordingly.

True, BUT when it's ONLY this site among the many dozens of other sites I visit that exhibits this behavior that excuse doesn't hold any validity.

I'd believe it was the browser deleting cookies.... if logins for sites like the BBC, Rendo, Sketchucation, Google sites, Steam etc etc etc etc etc etc did'nt need to be redone for years at a time

the only site I'd expect to log in every time is my Bank. and this place ain't that important...

With a connected credit card that you can spend from with the click of a button, I'd say it is.

I don't have to keep logging into Amazon or Steam and they are stores. ok I have to confirm before I can spend, but I'm still logged in with access to forums, wishlists, etc..... so.. nope. not a valid excuse..

I not only have to log in to Steam each time I visit (okay, it's not on a daily basis, like here), but I also have to put in an extra code because for some reason it thinks I'm using a new browser every time--which I'm not, and I'm not in the habit of deleting cookies either.

I am logged out frequently. This  I have always assumed because I use my phone sometimes when away from my computer.

Same thing happens to me at least once every month or two. It's less of an irritant than all the other (and much more frequent) ways the site finds to log me out.

Logging in to the main page first didn't resolve the log out issue for me. I think switching devices between computer and phone is the kiss of death.

It seems like the site treats each of us differently. Is that a feature or a bug? laugh

It's definitely a feature, and it looks to me like it's a security feature. If someone logs on from another device, then it notices the change, and wow, this may not be the same person, let's make sure... Same with a changing IP address, it's not sure you're the same person, it needs to make sure. It's still a bit inconsistent, but that's the best reason I can think of. This leaves people who have a fixed ip address and only use one device never, or very rarely having to log in again.

Ever since I have a router keeping my connection alive for a week, I very rarely have to log in. Previously I had to log in each morning.

Well you have to know the card security code - or have they disabled that again?

May be - I never use phone here, only PC browser, and don't have this problem.

I don't keep my credit card info on any site but PayPal unless I have no choice. Then at least I can narrow down where the problem is if my cc is ever stolen.

Getting back to the site issues, the only place I get logged out continually is here.

It's pretty irritating being automatically signed out of the forums all the time, even when I tick the "keep me signed in" box!

Anyone else getting signed out, or is it just me; and if it is just me, then how do I rectify this website behavior?

EDIT: Good I'm not alone at least, but still; it seems that this forum needs a serious overhaul!

I have a fixed IP adress, I only use one device and the same browser, yet I consistently get logged out every. single. day.

Do you have your browser set up to delete cookies each day? For some reason, that's the default in some browsers these days. That will make you have to log in again each day.
