This is not the first time that the terms and conditions of banners have changed before they expired. I can recall at least two earlier occasions that has occured, and I don't recall them coming back afterwards.

Well, if they won't honor their offers then I'm not sure I want to do business with them. That other site is having a great sale on clearance items and I can spend what I would have paid for a gift card at DAZ  over there instead.

I should clarify that it was only a guess that they didn’t want it to stack. I’m not sure why they pulled the offer but it seemed like a logical conclusion when the flash sale came up.

I'll echo @Elemental Flame, my earlier comment was based on the assumption that the offer has been "frozen" to avoid potential stacking... but we have no way of knowing that or if the offer was actually withdrawn.

RE - the purple banner/Flash mess - I know this solution won't work for most folks, but I'm going to put together a cart with a qualifying item from the wizards sale, an extra new release just to cover the the text in the flash ad with no wiggle room, and a massive GC, then submit a claim to customer service for a refund of the difference.  If they don't honor it... well, it would be a really, really stupid way for them to lose a customer who's been dropping the kind of money that I have, but I'm really, really, really getting sick of all this.

If they were worried about being unable to control the stacking, they could have waited until after the purple banner expired before offering this flash sale.

  • Yep, and the offer seems to be stacking...

Part of the gift card sale doesn't seem to be working properly. I put a gift card over $200 in the cart, then picked Robyn from the banner "Select A Base Character FREE" link. However, she's still full PC+member price in the cart, with no discount at all. I tried logging out and back in, but that didn't change.

Just to see what would happen, I put a few of the other characters on the page in, and not one of them was free.

  • I was just coming to ask you to check the messages again.

Is that part of the same offer?

So would it be better to purchase an new card and request a refund on the one I bought earlier since they added back the Dain 8 bundle deal?

Yep, and the offer seems to be stacking...

Dang.  I really didn't think they'd get it fixed in time, so now I'll be waiting on customer service to refund the difference.  Oh well, better safe than sorry. And at that rate, maybe I'll buy another GC...

  • Reported the base character issue.

    Should be fixed

Thanks, DAZ for reinstating it in time for the gift card flash sale.

Thanks for reinstating the offer, that was some generous stacking. Of course, this also means I ended up getting a significantly bigger gift card than originally intended :)!

Or two, since there's a $2000.00 limit on an individual GC... blush

I can see now why you own half the store!

Maybe it would be cheaper if you just bought the company :-)

I've actually considered it... I would have to get a couple of investors together to swing DAZ at it's current valuation, of course, but I did almost make an offer on another 3D store a few years ago.  Ultimately, though, running any company is a serious headache and having just sold out my stock in several I've been running for over twenty years, I really want to take it easy and decompress for a year or so before I make the next big leap.

Having just burned through what was supposed to be three months' worth of credit in 1.75 months, I just have to keep repeating to myself: the more credit I buy, the faster I spend it. And keep thinking back to those household repairs I had to make this month!

Is there a reason the Genesis 8 pro bundles page stops at Nix? Does that just exist for whatever pro bundle sale is going on at the time?

Yes, that's most probably a category used for some sale.

Damn, close to 40% off gift cards, I definitely am not buying a gift card with just 24% now.

Anything above 20% is highly unusual; Even unintended, like the stacking between the two offers.

It happens, but not very often.

I know exactly how it feels to miss out on unintended, high discounts on Gift Cards. (If you hang out in the forums, it will happen to you sooner or later.) But that doesn't mean I'm going to pass on one discount because somebody else stumbled on an unintended better deal.

24% is still $24 per hundred, or about the average retail price of one store asset, not including bundles. So buying $300 of store credit for $228 means I'm going to get at least thee more products for that $228 than if I just the paid "cash" equivalent for my next several orders. YMMV

Today's stacking gift card offer went a long way in ameliorating my concerns over the quality issues of the Dain bundle. I can basically just throw the entire bundle away and I'll have still come out ahead. Way ahead.

@L'Adair: It's highly unlikely that today's stacking was unintentional. It wasn't stacking earlier but people complained and it was fixed.

I completely agree with what you mean, if I didn't have store credit left I would have definitely bought a gift card but I still have around $300 credit left so I'm not in a hurry to buy a new one.

I'm most upset about the fact that I wanted to buy Dain from day one, but I thought I might catch a better deal on the "free items" and get some of the ones I wanted at a better discount than 30%.

Waiting on that offer has costed me the $2.20 items first and now over 40% on gift cards.

Just more and more reasons not to buy Dain at all in the end.

For me it was 46% Off - I thought it was a glitch, but figured it out =  Flash Sale 16% + 24% Plus Purple banner 20% + 10%.  Gift card > $300

The flash sale gives 24% in total if you buy a gift card over $300. That's what it gives, nothing more. If the purple banner gives 20%, it should be around 40% in total. I don't know how you got more than that.

Within the offers from promo banners "Extended Gift Card Flash Sale", "HEADSHOP", "Wizards, Ninjas and Creatures..." and purple one for owning Dain 8 Pro Bundle (because I made purchase before 30th January) I got 39% discount for $200 Gift Card and 45% for $300 Gift Card. Even if in order to get it I have to put few products (that I'm not interested in) I think that it's a lot of money for future savings. But, It's a shame I putting my money away for something else.

PS. If I bought also Dain Fantasy Bundle the discount would be even greater. Now are the best times for Gift Card offers.

You get an extra 10% off if you buy one of the new releases in the Wizard promo.  From looking at the flash sale promo again, you're right and the gift card should be 24% off if over $300, but I guess due to a glitch, it gave me the 16% off for gift cards over $200 too... Attached a pic of my last cart.

Here is the calculation on my $2000 Gift Card:

    16% 24% 20% 10%   1680.00 1512.00 1209.60 1088.64
