Reference images for models
First of all, I wish a happy New Year to everyone reading this post. So, I am creating a family story with custom characters I'm going to make and I successfully made husband and wife already (sculpted from real reference images, so they are almost identical to real ones). Now, I have a problem finding proper reference images for the two boys (one aged 9 and one aged 12). There simply are not images, shown in portrait and profile views that would show correct proportions for head, body and limbs. And usng GrowingUp, I can get quite close to realistic proportions but I would prefer to shape from an actual person. I tried checking on 3d.sk and while the model I found is a great reference for textures, it is not good for proportions.
so I was wondering, if anyone has ever done anything similar to this, where didnyou find your inspiration or images? I will be really grateful as it will be my first published 3D story, which I will (if enough interest) print as well and sell physical copies.
many, many thanks in advance,
nejc

Happy New Year!
I do not know of any reference images but I am modeling for my own story 2 younger versions of the female character (one aged 7, the other around 14). I also need 2 boys around age 12.
I used two sites for body proportions http://humanproportions.com/ and https://www.disabled-world.com/calculators-charts/height-weight-teens.php#mteen (this site has a lot of calculators depending on what you need).
For the detailed final touches I always choose some sort of known person since they have lots of images. They won't be reference images in the true sense, if you want to model them but I think they are ok for sculpting (not a sculptor myself so can't be sure). For one of the boys heads for examples you could go with macaulay culkin young, he will have more than enough photos for you to be able to do whatever you want, maybe even for the body. Worst case scenario, you can watch one of his movies (Home alone?) and make a few screenshots with the right angles.
Thank you! I have never thought of those creative ways to get reference photos. It's just the matter of getting proportions right... Will check it out!!
