Missing product thumbnails ?

I'm getting frustrated and am hoping somene can explain what it is i'm not doing right.

 

I have an object (any object) that I want to save as a simple prop. To do this I select file -> save as ->  support asset ->Figure/Prop assets, find the directory, put in the file name, and save. Then in the popup I fill out the various fields and click accept.

The object then shows up in the right directory in the content library but the thumbnail for it is 100% blank. No image at all.

in the directory, i find both an objectname.duf and objectname.duf.png file and the .png has an image of the object on it

Any idea what is happening?

    I haven't seen that happen. What happens if you select the blank thumbnail, right click on it and choose Refresh? Does it show up then? If you close and reopen Daz Studio does it show up? Is your Smart Content working?

    I've tried everything you suggested and no, it doesn't show up.

    I guess you should file a help request to get official Daz customer service. Attach a screenshot of the Content Library with the blank thumbnail and a screenshot of the directory folder showing the duf and PNG file. Customer service takes several days now, because they are really busy, but they will eventually get to your request.

    I render my own thumbnails afterwards

    I do that often, too, but the one created by default should still show up first, when the prop is saved. I've never had it create the .duf.png but not display it, have you, Wendy?

    well it sort of depends on the lighting and position I guess, I have had some pretty awful ones not showing the saved prop at all instead part or all of a figure or something
