Any tutorials for making sparkly materials.

Are there any good tutorials to help me make a sparkly texture for an item of clothing I'm making, please?

I think I need to use specular, but not too sure on how to go about this.

I would use a specular maps and a reflection maps with small spots of white on almost black.

I just have to give it a try...

I must admit for my textures I very often make a dedicated reflection map, but then I use Poser, not sure if this would work in DS.

You can use environment maps for reflections in DS, but I tend to dislike that as they reflections often comes out unnaturally bright, specially in darker renders. I like raytraced reflections, I know it's much slower but the results are so much better. Hang on, example coming up..

Raytrace vs. Reflectionmap. The only changes to the one on the left is that all reflectionmaps were removed.

Thank you both for the info.

I'm trying to make something that looks like sparkly ice, but for fabric, if you know what I mean.

    Sorry didn't get any notifications.
That's done using AoA SSS Shader, with sugar setting and ambient set. I also set the SSS Material Type to Spectralon.
Theres a map on the skirt in the diffuse and reflection strength but it works with out one.
