i'm one person, my grocery bill is about 150 a week.

What are you buying that ramps the price up so high? I'm not judging, just curious. My weekly grocery haul averages at about 60 bucks, and that's in one of the most high-cost countries in the world (Norway) with me pretty much always getting stuff I don't technically need.

    typically

    Extra Virgin Olive Oil $9.59
Pasta Tortellini Spinach & Cheese Fresh $4.99
Mozzarella Cheese Log Sliced Fresh $4.49
Less Sugar Greek Yogurt $1.49  x8
    Pineapple $3.29
Brown Eggs Grade A Large Cage Free Vegetarian Hens Organic $5.39
    Jasmine Rice Enriched $4.19
    Bread Flour Unbleached $5.69
    Brie Cheese $5.50
Pure Beet Juice Fresh Pressed Organic $7.29
    Organic Salad Spinach $2.99
egetable Broth Low Sodium Organic $4.19
    Preserves Strawberry Low Sugar $4.39
    Apples Fuji $4.99
Tomatoes on the Vine $1.28 / ea
    Watermelon Personal Size $5.19
    Oranges Navel $7.99
    t.p. 1.39 a roll
    tissues 1.00 box
1/2 doz lillies, tulips baby breaths

lately i been buying a fresh pineapple, just cause it's happy looking on my counter.  lol
i like to look at it when i'm on the exer bike

dang, is there anyway to disable the caps lock key.  i keep hitting it >.<

they added some man candy to the cast.  it's the aquaman actor. cheeky
think i saw harper on an episode.  he had a lotta make up on, due to being fed on by a wraith.  he had the whine.

i didnt buy pot roast meat but i got a nice sirloin piece,
no wishersheer sauce to cook it in. no jack daniels, not much in  options.
    plain pepper?

Brush with butter or olive oil, then sprinkle with anything, such as a bit of salt, pepper, paprika, or any kind of dry rub you might have in the spice rack.  Cook.  Eat.  Feel wealthy and blessed.  Fall asleep on the couch.  Now you ARE wealthy and blessed!  Wake up at 2 am and drag yourself to bed.  Or just roll over.  After all, it's YOUR couch!

even better with a futon. just turn the pillows to lie flat or sit up

the FAA mandate goes into effect this year.

and as of now, i'm not allowed to let the paratransit bus inside the gate to drop me off.

and i'm not allowed to let the driver in to use the restroom

i couldn't get my normal 7am trip reservation for next Tuesday.  i'll have to sleep an rxtra hour. angel

what they call wheelchair access is bullshit.  it's so hard with a walker, a wheelchair not going to make it in.  i guess i could complain about handicap access to the building.  there is no ramp in the front of the biulding.  ramp is in the back, but there no handicap entrance to the rear parking lot.  i'll have to come in via the car gate.  the man gate is very heavy. no way a wheelchair can make it.  walker not feasible.  not to mention when snow and ice on the ground.

    lost the blizzardy thread.
been calling in sick all week, dunno why i didn't stay home again today.  feelin that awful sinus pressure.

...here they keep threatening that snow is in the forecast tach day, but every day, nothing.  Yesterday the clouds actually cleared off and it was sunny and rather nice for mid January. However today, yet another "severe weather alert" for, you guessed it, snow.  Fearing though it will be a "cry wolf" situation everyone will just ignore the warnings and then we get buried like happened three years ago.

the publisher'a clearing house. cabbagee patch bday cards
    data entry is gonnnne

i dont understand how people today manage.
i'm one person, my grocery bill is about 150 a week.
the grossly obscene deductible on family health care.
my co workers with fammilies paying 7k
    like daffy says disspicable.

i don't know how they manage.

...150$ a week for groceries, wow that's pretty high. My average bill is around 35 - 40$ a week at most and even tend to purchase a lot of higher priced natural/organic foods. Still my monthly EBT benefits run out just after the middle of the month so the rest has to come out of what's left of my SS benefit after rent and bills.

It's Magic:  A few weeks ago I was reporting that I would watch a groundhog in my neighbor's yard.  Recently though I haven't seen him.  A couple days ago (before the snow) and again today in the snow, I noticed a rabbit come out from under the building where the groundhog lived and graze in the yard.  But it wasn't a typical small brown wild rabbit with erect ears.  It was a large white rabbit with big brown spots and floppy hangy-down ears.  More of a pet rabbit type critter.  Perhaps the groundhog was missing because it had spun itself a cocoon and morphed into a fluffy rabbit?surprise

PS: My neighbors in the other half of this house raise rabbits.  Hmmm..., I wonder if they're missing one.indecision

    wascally wabbits

bugs usually outsmarts Daffy.  Daffy has his moments.

surprisePteranodon, discovered in 1876 by Othniel C. Marsh, was much bigger. It had a wingspan that ranged from 9 to 20 feet

    20 friggin feets wingspan

     https://www.livescience.com/24071-pterodactyl-pteranodon-flying-dinosaurs.html?jwsource=cl

    ranadons in Kansas?!

While the first Pteranodon wing bones were collected by Marsh and Cope in the early 1870s, the first Pteranodon skull was found on May 2, 1876, along the Smoky Hill River in Wallace County (now Logan County), Kansas, USA

    Pteranodon means "wing without tooth".
Pteranodon was a carnivore, but it had no teeth - doh, god's sense of humor?

It may have hunted like modern pelican, coughing fish at the surface of the ocean and swallowing them whole

    TIME - Late Cretaceous - 76-73 MYA
RANGE - Europe & North America
SIZE - 23 foot wingspan (7 meters) - for those of us who are metrically challenged. lol

I've been trying to contact my friend Dani for a couple of days, but she's not responding. She posted to her blog on Friday, so I don't think they're experiencing an extended power outage like the case has been before. I know she's been depressed beyond the normal level for a while, and then she tends to just retreat into silence. Not knowing what kind of state she's in worries me. For the record, she's got nothing to do with the "drama" that went down some time back.

...would great for 3DL.  Hmm, 16 DDR4, 8 channel DIMM slots, crikey I could have 512 GB of memory as well as 256 threads.  That would certainly get renders using UE to go pretty quick (maybe even trim those 8 hour Iray renders down to around an hour or so).

Ahh but only 1 per customer.  Two would make for a nice little render farm.

  • No sun today.  Snowed here most of yesterday.  Snowed here all day today.  Still snowing.  No wind, just lots and lots of fine snowflakes falling quickly.  Quietude stillness.  I swept the porch & steps off this morning and already there's another 6 inches (15 cm) on the steps and newel posts tonight.  Today would have been a great day to bake cookies.  But I spent a long time in the kitchen yesterday making a huge batch of scalloped potatoes.  Maybe cookies tomorrow.  Mmmm..., cookie!

Non-complaint:  Snowbound, scalloped potatoes, cookies, peach brandy, good selection of movies on the TV, house is warm, I don't have to go anywhere.  smiley

Non-complaint:  A few months back, this thread drifted into listing TV shows that featured classical music themes or background.  Recently I've been watching the British mystery show from the late '90s "Jonathan Creek" and their theme is from "Danse Macabre" by Camille Saint-Saëns.  Throughout each episode you hear the theme played in many variations.

Camille Saint-Saëns:  "La Danse Macabre" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71fZhMXlGT4  (theme example: 5:30 thru 5:40)

woke up to heavy frost this morning  and the last of it hadn't disapeared in the shady areas of the garden when the sun set,  so it hadn't really got much above 0c all day,  yet it was bright and sunny,
