Are Springs possible in DAZ?
in The Commons
I was woundering if anybody has any luck importing a charcter attachment or any other object that has had a spring effect applied to it from an external program like Iclone, Blender or Carrara? I have been able to export a G2 Character into Iclone before and apply a spring there but I was not sure how to import the effect into DS. Anybody know how to simulate springs in DS, like a tail, or bunny ears or any type of geograph attachment? (I'm really wanting to apply springs to a feather prop I was looking at buying.

Maybe: Would spring effects be possible with DForce?
There's a bunch of morphing spring props included in Maclean's Morphing Primitives set https://www.daz3d.com/everyday-morphing-primitives Just pop 'em into your scene, with a shader of your choice and dial in the shape and pose that you want. .
@Cybersox fixed your link, it was throwing a 404
Pity its not what the OP meant
I discovered how to do them in UE4 last week
the spring bone movement does export from 3Dxchange in a BVH but you need to manually check the bones under advanced on the DAZ studio import dialogue.
What do you mean manually OnyLuvsCatz? You mean verify something or do you mean there is a selection box that needs to be checked?
Bvh import you get a dialoge with advanced, you open that and tick all the bones on the source and target figure bone hierarchies such as pectorals for boob bounce etc.
Make sure tou export your bvh with hip not node0 etc selected as base in 3Dx
can select hip or thr base figure in DAZ for import and I usually get the rotation axis wrong first go so no good asking me that
make sure its the same figure
Ahh.......Ok. So will it export the bvh for everything even if the springs were applied to a geograph attachment like a tail?
Yes but you need to load it again on the tail in DAZ studio
If I follow correctly, you mean select the tail in the scene hierarchy window then import the bvh with the only the tail selected?
Yes
Thank you so much! OnlyLuvsCatz
