Hello! I am trying to install Daz Studio on a new laptop and I have been gone for awhile so everything is different now and I'm getting an error that says:
"A valid postgreSQL CMS connection could not be established.... (blah blah blah) ...Several Daz Studio features will not be available."
So... What do I do?
Thanks

You need to install the Postgres database that hosts the CMS - it SHOULD be available via DIM. If it IS installed you need to make sure it's running (it is installed as an on-demaned process, started by DIM and also by Daz Studio, so if you start DIM, then shut it down, then VERY quickly start Daz Studio, you can catch postgres already shutting down and it won't restart without a gentle nudge - eitehr stop/start Daz Studio or there is a button somehwere within the content libray pane to start it).
Thank you, Simon! I found and installed the file from the DIM and the error message has dissapeared, but I can't see any content showing up. What am I not doing right?
If you're using non-default path, you must make sure that the path where DIM install also is defined in Daz Studio.
Did you download the free Starter Essentials files (one for each Genesis generation)? They're separate from the program installer.
Yes. I think so. So, what I have done so far:
1. It's a new pc so it didn't have any of the software installed. No DIM, no Daz Studio. So, I went to the daz download page and downloaded Daz Studio and installed it.
2. Then I installed the DIM
3. Tried to install starter resources for Genesis 8 Male and 8 Female as well as Default resources for Daz 4.9+
DIM says they are installed
4. Got the error message when I tried to check for content in Daz Studio
5. Used DIM in found and installed postgreSQL thing, and error messsage dissappeared, but not seeing content on library tabs
6. Investigate my new pc. I have two "User" files. One with my name and one called Public.
I see Daz Stuff in one, not the other. Not sure what I should have or want to make it work. Thank you to everyone helping! :-)
Check the paths registered as Content directories in DS preferences (Edit > Preferences > Content tab, then Content Directory Manager), you may need to add the one where you don’t see the content (in which case, add the folder which contains the Runtime or data folder as both a DS and poser content directory)
